Senior Functional Analyst – Microservices Transformation Program (Hybrid – Brussels)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Functional Analyst to support a large-scale modernization program focused on transforming a legacy monolithic platform into a modern API-first and event-driven microservices architecture running on Kubernetes.
The role combines functional and technical analysis, data modeling, stakeholder coordination, and Agile delivery within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business needs and translate them into functional and technical specifications
Model and document business processes using UML and BPMN
Design and maintain data models and interface contracts (synchronous and asynchronous)
Produce high-quality documentation for developers, testers, and stakeholders
Create sequence diagrams to define interactions between distributed services and systems
Support Agile/Scrum delivery processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Participate in testing activities and validation processes
Challenge requirements and propose pragmatic alternative solutions aligned with project goals
Coach and support analysts within the delivery teams
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience as a Functional Analyst in Agile environments
Expertise in:
BPMN and UML modeling
Functional and technical analysis
Data governance and data modeling
SQL querying and data analysis
Sequence diagrams and API/interface design
Synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns
Hands-on experience with:
Jira
Confluence
Git
Postman
SoapUI
SQL clients and browser developer tools
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to estimate development effort, timelines, and delivery impacts
Experience working within microservices or event-driven architectures is highly valued
Languages
English: Active knowledge
French and/or Dutch: Nice to have
