ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst with 5+ years of professional experience to join a technology-driven organization developing solutions for the financial services sector.

This is an opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment where you will act as a key link between business stakeholders, clients, and technical teams. You will contribute to the analysis, definition, and delivery of software solutions that support complex business processes, with particular exposure to the banking and credit domain

The role is based in Porto and follows a highly flexible hybrid model. The reference is up to 2 days per week in the office, although office presence may be lower depending on project needs, team organization, and individual circumstances.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You will participate in software implementation and evolution projects for financial-sector clients, working closely with business and technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include gathering and documenting functional requirements, understanding client business processes, translating business needs into clear functional specifications, and supporting delivery teams during implementation.

You will work with BPMN 2.0 for business process modelling and within Agile delivery environments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout analysis, development, testing, and implementation phases.

You will also contribute to improving usability and business workflows by applying UX/UI principles and maintaining a strong focus on the end-user experience.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience gathering, analysing, and documenting functional requirements directly with clients or business stakeholders.
• Practical experience with BPMN 2.0 and business process modelling tools.
• Experience delivering software projects using Agile methodologies
• Good understanding of the different phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience using Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and/or Google Workspace.
• Understanding of UX/UI principles and good practices.
• Strong stakeholder communication and expectation-management skills.
• Ability to understand and adapt to different client business processes.
• Strong organization, proactivity, teamwork, and structured problem-solving skills.
• Interest in consulting, project environments, and continuous learning.
• English: professional working proficiency, both written and spoken, is required.
• Availability to work in a flexible hybrid model in Porto, with up to 2 office days per week when required.
• Availability for occasional national and international travel.

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Previous experience working on projects within banking, financial services, lending, or credit management
• Functional knowledge of credit processes and the credit lifecycle.
• Experience working in consulting or client-facing software implementation environments.
• Exposure to complex digital transformation projects involving multiple business and technical stakeholders.

Compensation: €2,000 – €2,650/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
