Job Description

Senior Full Stack Software Engineer – AI & GrowthOur client is a fast-growing, AI-first video editing platform reshaping how creators and businesses generate social video content. Within just 18 months of launching, the platform has attracted over 10 million users globally. Backed by $50M in Series A funding from top-tier investors, they are headquartered in Palo Alto and operate with a distributed team across the U.S. and China. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI tools, support global growth, and contribute to a product with deep creator adoption.
Our client is building an AI-powered "story to video" engine—a core component of their long-term vision. They are urgently hiring multiple senior full stack engineers (L5) to help meet an August beta launch deadline for this initiative. Engineers will collaborate closely with product and design teams, take ownership of key systems, and drive new feature development with rapid iteration.
What you'll do:
  • Design and ship full stack features in React, Node.js, Django, TypeScript, and Python
  • Work across the tech stack, balancing front-end and back-end development depending on team needs
  • Triage, prioritize, and resolve user feedback with fast iteration cycles
  • Build and improve tooling for observability, monitoring, and performance
  • Contribute to a culture of quality engineering practices (clean code, agile, pair programming)
  • Collaborate across time zones, with significant overlap between U.S. and China teams
  • Partner closely with product and design teams to build for customer needs

Experience required:
  • 8–12+ years in software engineering with a full stack focus
  • Strong experience with React and server-side frameworks (Node.js, Django)
  • Experience in fast-moving startups; prior founder/early-stage experience preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in ambiguous, high-growth environments
  • AI experience is preferred (e.g., worked on AI-enabled products or ML pipelines)
  • Strong data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals
  • Familiarity with analytics tooling (e.g., Mixpanel, Google Analytics) is a plus
  • Mandarin language skills are a bonus (but not required)

  • Hours: 10 AM–7 PM PT (with flexibility to extend into evening for China overlap)
  • Location: On-site in Palo Alto, CA
  • Compensation: $180K–$224K base + up to 5 months bonus + equity (6 figures, 140–190K shares typical)
  • Visa sponsorship: Yes (H-1B, EAD preferred)
  • Company size: ~100 employees
  • Funding + investors: $50M Series A (SoftBank Vision Fund, DCM, others)
  • Reporting to: CTO

Interview process:
  1. Resume review by hiring manager and CTO
  2. Live coding with an engineer (candidate uses personal IDE)
  3. System design interview
  4. Final culture fit interview with CTO
