Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead the architecture of enterprise applications, with a strong emphasis on UI engineering and design system architecture.

This is a hands-on architecture role responsible for technical decisions across the application stack, covering frontend applications, backend services, data integration, and deployment. The architect’s deepest expertise should be in UI architecture, supported by practical experience with Node.js, PostgreSQL, and DevOps practices.

The role will partner with product, UX, engineering, platform, and security teams to deliver secure, accessible, reliable, and maintainable applications.

Key Responsibilities

Define and evolve application architecture across UI, APIs, backend services, and data flows, with primary emphasis on frontend architecture.

· Lead UI architecture decisions covering application structure, component boundaries, state management, routing, performance, and integration patterns.

· Guide design system architecture and adoption, including reusable components, shared UI patterns, accessibility, and consistency across applications.

· Collaborate with backend engineers on Node.js service design, API contracts, authentication, authorization, and PostgreSQL data models.

· Evaluate architectural trade-offs across the stack and address their impact on user experience, scalability, security, and maintainability.

· Establish engineering standards and guide implementation through architecture reviews, code reviews, prototypes, and reference implementations.

· Work with DevOps and platform teams on CI/CD, environment configuration, deployment strategies, monitoring, and production readiness.

· Guide application modernization, dependency upgrades, and reduction of technical debt.

· Translate business and user needs into technical designs and communicate decisions clearly to stakeholders.

· Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.

Skill Requirements

Significant experience designing and delivering complex web applications, including technical leadership in an architect or equivalent role.

· Deep expertise in UI architecture and modern frontend engineering, including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a framework such as React or Angular.

· Experience architecting or evolving design systems and shared UI component libraries.

· Strong understanding of frontend performance, accessibility, security, testing, and maintainability.

· Experience making architecture decisions across frontend, backend services, APIs, and relational data layers.

· Practical working experience with Node.js services and API development, sufficient to guide design, review implementations, and troubleshoot integration issues.

· Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including relational data modeling, SQL, indexing, and common query performance considerations.

· Practical DevOps knowledge covering CI/CD pipelines, automated quality checks, configuration management, deployments, observability, and release management.

· Ability to turn architectural decisions into clear implementation guidance and contribute directly where needed.

· Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical decision-making skills.

· Experience with cloud platforms, containers, and infrastructure automation.

· Experience modernizing large applications and managing architectural change across teams.

· Familiarity with distributed systems and microservice architectures.

· Experience delivering enterprise software in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
