About the Role

We are building a small, empowered product discovery team focused on Zinkworks’ Autonomous Networks product portfolio. The team will take new product ideas from initial concept through to high-fidelity working prototypes that telecommunications operators can explore, test, and respond to.

We are now hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own the end-to-end technical foundations of these prototypes.

This is a hands-on engineering role spanning user interfaces, backend services, APIs, data flows, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations. You will build complete product experiences, translating early-stage ideas into reliable and engaging prototypes that demonstrate how autonomous network technologies can solve real operational problems.

Many of the products we build are agent-driven. You will work closely with AI Engineers to connect intuitive user experiences and dependable backend services with the underlying agent layer. This includes designing the technical seams that allow agentic systems to interact safely and effectively with users, data, workflows, and real-world systems.

The role is suited to someone who enjoys early-stage product engineering, can make sensible technical decisions without every requirement being fully defined, and is comfortable moving quickly without compromising engineering quality.

What You’ll Do

• Own the full-stack implementation of product discovery probes, demonstrators, and working prototypes.
• Build intuitive, responsive user interfaces that allow telecommunications operators to understand, test, and interact with complex autonomous network capabilities.
• Design and develop backend services, APIs, data models, and integrations that support AI-enabled products and workflows.
• Build server-side foundations that allow agent-driven applications to interact with real systems, processes, and data sources.
• Partner closely with AI Engineers to define integration patterns between the application layer, backend services, and agent frameworks.
• Translate AI and agent outputs into clear, trustworthy, and actionable user experiences.
• Design APIs, data flows, and service boundaries that support both frontend applications and autonomous agents.
• Implement real-time and asynchronous application experiences, including job status, notifications, streaming responses, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Stand up and maintain demo and prototype infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
• Work with Product, Design, AI Engineering, and the Tech Lead to move ideas from early concepts to high-fidelity prototypes.
• Help define full-stack code standards, engineering practices, reusable components, and technical guardrails.
• Make pragmatic architecture and technology decisions in a fast-moving product discovery environment.
• Introduce appropriate testing, observability, security, and deployment practices without slowing down experimentation.
• Support the transition of successful prototypes into more scalable and production-ready product delivery paths.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a Full Stack Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar, delivering user-facing applications from frontend through to backend.
• Production experience with Python for backend services, APIs, or data-driven applications.
• Strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as React, Next.js, or an equivalent technology.
• Experience designing and building APIs, backend services, data models, and integrations.
• Ability to create polished, responsive, and accessible user interfaces.
• Good understanding of frontend architecture, component design, application state, API integration, and browser-based performance.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native engineering principles.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform or a comparable cloud provider.
• Confidence working in ambiguous, early-stage, or product discovery environments.
• Ability to make technical and product decisions without relying on a fully defined backlog or detailed specification.
• Strong product instincts and an interest in building technology that users can explore, validate, and respond to.
• Comfortable using AI-augmented development tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
• Ability to collaborate closely with AI Engineers, Product, Design, and technical stakeholders.
• A practical engineering mindset that balances speed, user experience, quality, security, and maintainability.

Nice to Have

• Experience building full-stack applications for AI-driven products.
• Exposure to agentic AI systems, LLM applications, or modern agent frameworks.
• Experience designing user experiences for conversational, generative, or autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with patterns such as streaming responses, tool execution, approval workflows, explainability, and human-in-the-loop interactions.
• Experience building dashboards, operational tooling, workflow applications, or complex data visualisations.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, or similar.
• Familiarity with Google ADK or related agent development frameworks.
• Experience with event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, or real-time application updates.
• Experience implementing authentication, authorisation, auditability, and secure integration patterns.
• Telecoms, OSS, network automation, or autonomous networks experience.
• Experience working on prototypes, product discovery teams, start-up environments, or innovation-led engineering projects.
• Experience helping successful prototypes evolve into scalable, production-grade applications.
