Your Role

We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for complex cloud-native, master data and graph-enabled solutions. The role combines solution design, advanced engineering, delivery governance and team enablement. The successful candidate will shape architecture within agreed enterprise guardrails, lead critical technical decisions, establish engineering standards, manage delivery and operational risks, and mentor engineers across global teams. The role remains hands-on and is accountable for end-to-end technical quality, scalability, security and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end technical design for complex full-stack capabilities spanning user experience, microservices, data workflows, graph technologies and cloud infrastructure.
• Translate business and data requirements into pragmatic architecture, technical roadmaps, service boundaries and implementation plans.
• Lead design reviews and make evidence-based decisions covering scalability, security, resilience, integration, data quality, maintainability and cost.
• Define reusable engineering patterns, reference implementations and guardrails aligned with enterprise architecture and security expectations.
• Identify architectural risks, technical debt and delivery dependencies early, then drive agreed remediation or escalation.
• Lead by example through hands-on contribution to critical code, prototypes, integration patterns and complex defect resolution.
• Establish and govern standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, GitOps, observability, documentation and release readiness.
• Guide cloud and Kubernetes design, including workload topology, identity and access, secrets, resilience, performance and operational support.
• Own technical acceptance criteria and ensure non-functional requirements are demonstrably met before production release.
• Use delivery metrics, quality signals and operational insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Define responsible ways of using AI-assisted engineering across analysis, design, coding, testing, review and documentation.
• Ensure AI-generated outputs are traceable, securely handled, independently validated and compliant with applicable engineering controls.
• Evaluate emerging technologies through focused experiments and convert proven approaches into reusable delivery practices.

Your Profile

Skills and Experience:

• Advanced experience with graph platforms such as Neo4j or BigQuery Graph, including graph modelling and integration patterns.
• Experience defining governed use of AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or comparable solutions.
• Strong observability experience using Splunk, Grafana and CloudWatch, including service health indicators and production diagnostics.
• Breadth across Angular, Next.js, Vue.js, Java, Go or dbt, with the judgement to select technologies appropriate to the context.
• Experience designing hybrid or multi-cloud integrations involving Google Cloud services such as Cloud Storage and BigQuery.
• Experience creating reusable platform capabilities, developer enablement assets or engineering accelerators.
• Substantial experience delivering complex technology solutions in financial services, such as banking, funds management, wealth management or investment management.
• Deep understanding of Master Data Management, data stewardship, data quality, identity resolution, lineage and data governance.
• Experience shaping or modernising enterprise MDM platforms and integrating them with operational and analytical ecosystems.
• Working knowledge of regulated delivery environments, operational resilience and risk control expectations.
• Typically 8 to 12+ years of relevant engineering experience, including demonstrated technical leadership of complex delivery.
• Excellent problem-solving, architecture communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
• Ability to operate with high autonomy, manage ambiguity and remain accountable for end-to-end technical outcomes.
• Proven ability to guide multiple engineers or workstreams within an Agile delivery model using JIRA and Confluence.
• Strong risk management mindset with experience leading change, incident and problem management activities.
• Ability to communicate options, trade-offs and recommendations clearly to both engineering teams and senior non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work from the Sydney office three days per week and flex working hours when reasonably required for global collaboration.
