The European energy system is in the midst of a green transition, where battery energy storage systems will play a central role, and we need you to make it happen!
Capture Energy, a fast-growing Swedish company founded in 2023 and with 38 employees currently, aims to become a market leader in the Nordics in providing battery energy storage systems (BESS) for energy flexibility services - a market that is expected to experience significant growth in the coming years. With innovation at our core, we're building the digital infrastructure that powers the clean energy transition - starting with our next-generation platform, Capture Cloud.
As a small company today, we are able to operate very differently compared to the larger players on the market, which gives us a great competitive position. We are committed to bringing good energy to every setting where we operate: from our customers, partners, to our employees.
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to join our team in Stockholm and help build the user-facing applications of Capture Cloud. You will work with Next.js (v14+, App Router) and TypeScript in an NX monorepo setup, building secure, scalable, and user-friendly web applications. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, backend developers, and the Tech Lead to deliver high-quality solutions that combine technical excellence with great user experience.
This is an exciting role for a frontend engineer who wants to work with modern frameworks, shared component libraries, and CI/CD pipelines, while contributing to the future of clean energy.
Design, develop, and maintain frontend applications using Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
Implement and extend the backend-for-frontend (BFF) layer for authentication, API calls, and data transformations, hosting the applications in Azure using various Azure cloud services
Contribute to and maintain the shared component library (documented in Storybook) to ensure consistency and reusability across applications.
Collaborate with backend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver secure, high-performing, and user-friendly applications.
Translate Figma designs into high-quality, responsive UIs.
Work with shared packages (utilities, API clients, modules) to avoid duplication and maintain a single source of truth.
Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote frontend best practices.
Ensure applications meet high standards of performance, accessibility, and security
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (build/test/lint, Docker images, deployment).
7+ years of professional frontend development experience
Strong expertise in React and Next.js (experience with Next.js v14+ App Router is a big plus).
Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
Familiarity with backend-for-frontend (BFF) patterns, secure API calls, and data handling.
Experience with Azure cloud services such as Functions, Container Apps, Key Vault, Application Insights, SignalR.
Experience with shared component libraries, graph tooling such as Carbon Design, and tools like Storybook
Strong understanding of frontend architecture, design systems, reusable component patterns, and real-time communication (web sockets, server-sent events)
Ability to translate Figma designs into production-ready UI with attention to detail.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and frontend testing.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on performance and scalability.
Familiarity with authentication/authorization flows in frontend apps (OAuth or OpenID Connect).
Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) is a plus.
Experience with energy, IoT, or data-heavy platforms is a plus.
Fluent in English.
As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in an environment that encourages personal and professional growth. We are committed to supporting our employees, offering opportunities for training and progression to those who show dedication and enthusiasm in their roles. Our team is our most valuable asset, and we strive to ensure each member feels valued, supported, and inspired.
A chance to design and build the user-facing applications for Capture Cloud.
Hands-on work with modern frontend technologies (Next.js, TypeScript, Storybook).
An inspiring workplace where people are at the heart of everything we do, driving us toward our vision
Competitive salary
Maximized wellness contribution
Pension and health insurance
