TFS currently has an exciting permanent opportunity as a Senior Fraud & AML Analyst, reporting to the Vice President, Risk Management. This role will reside in our Markham Head Office.

The Senior Fraud & AML Analyst is responsible for the ongoing operation, governance, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of the organization's fraud and anti-money laundering risk management framework.

What you will be doing:

Fraud Governance

  • Coordinate and maintain Fraud & AML governance routines, operating standards, escalation pathways, dashboards, control inventories, and management reporting.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Credit, Collections, Operations, Technology, and Internal Audit to ensure a coordinated approach to financial crime risk management.
  • Maintain documentation, including operating models, RACI matrices, procedures, playbooks, policies, training materials, control evidence, and sustainment plans.
  • Track open Fraud & AML actions and coordinate follow-up activities to ensure timely remediation and accountability.

Fraud Prevention and Management

  • Analyze fraud trends, patterns, losses, recoveries, and emerging typologies to identify potential risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
  • Support the ongoing review, tuning, and performance monitoring of fraud detection rules, FraudIQ utilization, alerts, and related fraud controls.
  • Lead fraud-related investigations and coordinate escalation of significant fraud events, control failures, unusual activity patterns, and emerging risks.
  • Recommend and support implementation of enhancements to strengthen fraud detection, monitoring, reporting, and operational effectiveness.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving existing controls, policies, procedures, and governance processes.

AML/ATF Program Support

  • Support the operation and sustainment of AML/ATF controls relating to KYC, CDD, EDD, beneficial ownership, sanctions screening, PEP/HIO/RCA requirements, adverse media monitoring, and ongoing customer due diligence.
  • Partner with Compliance and the CAMLO to support AML control effectiveness, issue tracking, documentation, reporting, and evidence management while maintaining CAMLO independence and regulatory accountability.
  • Assist with updates to AML-related procedures, control documentation, escalation pathways, and training materials.
  • Monitor AML-related control performance and support remediation of identified gaps and opportunities for improvement.

Monitoring, Analytics and Reporting

  • Prepare reporting and management information on fraud and AML trends, alert volumes, investigations, losses, recoveries, control performance, and remediation activities.
  • Develop and maintain KPI and KRI reporting to support management oversight and decision-making.
  • Analyze data and identify patterns indicative of fraud, financial crime, control weaknesses, or emerging risk trends and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Support dashboard development and enhancement using available reporting tools and data sources.
  • Prepare comprehensive reporting and analysis for senior management and stakeholders on a monthly and ad hoc basis.

Investigation Support and Escalation

  • Support investigation of high-risk or unusual fraud and financial crime matters as required.
  • Ensure investigation documentation is complete, consistent, evidence-based, and suitable for regulatory, audit, legal, and management review.
  • Coordinate escalation of material fraud trends, AML red flags, suspicious activity, control deficiencies, or emerging typologies to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assist in maintaining strong issue management, tracking, and remediation processes across the organization.

Training and Awareness

  • Develop and maintain Fraud & AML training materials, awareness communications, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide training and guidance on fraud indicators, AML red flags, escalation requirements, documentation expectations, and control procedures.
  • Support ongoing education initiatives to enhance fraud and AML awareness throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate updates to training content to reflect evolving risks, typologies, regulatory expectations, and system enhancements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve governance, controls, reporting, data quality, operational effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support validation activities, audit readiness initiatives, effectiveness reviews, and management reporting requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives designed to strengthen fraud and financial crime risk management capabilities across TCCI.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Risk Management, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification related to fraud prevention, AML, investigations, or financial crimes such as CFE, CAMS, CFCS, ICA, ACFCS, or equivalent designation is considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in fraud operations, fraud prevention, AML/ATF compliance, financial crime, risk management, credit risk, or related financial services functions.
  • Strong understanding of fraud detection, fraud investigations, AML red flags, KYC/CDD/EDD requirements, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and financial crime control practices.
  • Practical knowledge of regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, and reporting obligations relating to fraud and AML/ATF compliance.
  • Experience supporting governance forums, issue management processes, control inventories, operational reporting, dashboards, and KPI/KRI development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, assess control effectiveness, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Experience with analytical and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, Excel, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare management-ready reports and audit-ready documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Ability to operate and continuously improve consultant-designed frameworks, controls, governance routines, and operating models after implementation and handover.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $89,545 - $112,000. The offered salary will be based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications.
