Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Fire Alarm Technician for full-time, on-site work in commercial and industrial facilities across the Kansas City Metro. This role covers installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and related life safety systems, including panel and device programming. Pay is $35 to $45 per hour based on experience and certification level.

Key Responsibilities - Senior Fire Alarm Technician
- Install, inspect, test, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems in commercial and industrial buildings. Complete service calls and return systems to code compliance.
- Diagnose panel, device, and circuit faults using electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
- Program fire alarm panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and suppression system interfaces.
- Document all work performed through accurate service reports, inspection records, and deficiency lists.
- Coordinate scheduling with customers, project managers, and other technicians. Mentor junior technicians and reinforce safe work practices on every job.
Qualifications - Senior Fire Alarm Technician
- Several years of progressive field experience troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining fire alarm systems.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 101, local building and fire codes, and inspection and testing requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring schematics, riser diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills, including accurate service reports and customer paperwork.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites throughout the Kansas City metro.
Preferred Qualifications - Fire Alarm Systems Technician
- NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Level II or higher, or equivalent industry certification.
- Manufacturer certifications on common platforms such as Notifier, Simplex, Silent Knight, Gamewell-FCI, EST, or Siemens.
- Experience with suppression system interfaces, including pre-action, clean agent, and kitchen hood systems.
- Experience with sprinkler monitoring devices, mass notification, and low voltage system integration.
- Prior experience training junior technicians or running a service and inspection route as lead.
Physical Requirements - Senior Fire Alarm Technician
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and handle ladders, tools, and test equipment daily.
- Climb ladders and work from lifts at height. Access attics, ceilings, crawl spaces, and mechanical rooms.
- Stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach overhead for extended periods across a full shift.
- Work on-site full-time in commercial and industrial environments with varying temperature, dust, and noise.
- Travel locally to customer sites. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or on-call response may be required.
