Job Description

What's the role?

Sky News is looking for an experienced, motivated, and collaborative finance professional to join our high-performing FP&A team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset to take on a visible, hands-on role supporting one of the most dynamic news brands in the country.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will take end-to-end financial ownership of your assigned Business Units within Sky News. You will deliver critical insights, analysis, and reporting that help drive strategic decision-making across Sky News. This role works closely with business leaders and the Executive team, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and meaningful influence over the financial direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the end-to-end implementation of Vena Solutions, transforming the organisation's budgeting and forecasting processes from Excel-based workflows into a centralised, automated EPM platform.
  • Deliver financial performance reviews and provide insights into key drivers, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage and drive month-end and quarter-end reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of key FP&A outputs.
  • Partner with Business Unit leaders to develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, concise insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic planning and business case development.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial metrics, costs, and benefits to inform operational decisions.
  • Educate and support non-finance teams with financial concepts, tools, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal finance policies and external accounting standards, including treatment of Opex/Capex, cost allocation, and revenue recognition.
  • Contribute to finance process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Contribute to ad hoc strategic and operational projects.

Who are you?

  • Degree-qualified in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.

  • CA/CPA qualified accreditation.

  • Minimum 5+ years previous experience in accounting, including at least 2+ in a commercial finance or FP&A role.

  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with large data sets.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency; comfortable leveraging financial systems and technology.

  • Detail-oriented with a high standard of accuracy and presentation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders.

  • Proactive, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • A humble, team-first approach, with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset.
