At Nuffield Health, our purpose is to build a healthier nation. As a Senior Financial Performance Manager, you'll play a critical leadership role in driving financial performance across a regional hospital portfolio, providing strategic insight, commercial challenge and trusted business partnering to senior stakeholders.

Working closely with Regional Senior Leadership Teams, Hospital Directors and Finance colleagues, you'll help shape financial strategy, identify opportunities to improve performance and ensure informed decision-making through high-quality analysis and commercial insight. You'll also lead and develop a team of Financial Performance Managers, supporting the delivery of the region's financial targets and long-term growth plans.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused finance leader who enjoys influencing senior stakeholders, driving performance improvement and delivering tangible business outcomes within a complex operational environment.

As our Senior Financial Performance Manager, you will:

  • Lead financial performance across the region, ensuring delivery of EBITDA growth plans and identifying actions to maximise opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Partner with Regional Senior Leadership Teams to provide commercial insight, challenge assumptions and support strategic decision-making.
  • Deliver robust financial analysis, business cases and investment appraisals that support growth, efficiency and operational improvement.
  • Act as the primary finance business partner for regional stakeholders, providing trusted advice and guidance on key financial matters.
  • Support the delivery of accurate forecasting, budgeting and financial planning processes across the region.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Financial Performance Managers, ensuring clear priorities, strong performance and ongoing professional development.
  • Monitor financial performance, trading risks and opportunities, driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Champion improvements in financial processes, controls and reporting to enhance efficiency, insight and decision-making.

To succeed as our Senior Financial Performance Manager, we're looking for:

  • Significant experience in a Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance or Financial Performance leadership role.
  • A proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving financial performance within a complex organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience developing business cases, investment appraisals and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent financial planning, forecasting and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into clear business insights.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence decision-making at senior levels.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing financial processes, controls and reporting.
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Desirable experience:

  • Experience within healthcare, hospitality, leisure or another multi-site operational environment.
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation, growth or change programmes.
  • Knowledge of operational and financial performance management within a customer-focused organisation.
