We are looking for a
Senior Financial Controller with a RA qualification to help build and control our finance foundation. You will play a critical role in a dynamic and rapidly growing organization where your contribution will make a visible daily impact. You can make a difference! This opportunity is open for 32-40 hours a week with at least 2 days a week at our HQ in Amsterdam (other days are flexible!).
Do you recognize yourself in this? Our Senior Financial Controller RA is an essential part of the Accounting and Controlling team, and works with a dotted line to the CFO. This role is for a highly skilled accounting and control professional, with RA accreditation and data-first mindset, ready to control finances across 8 countries within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
As one of the most senior technical experts within the function, you contribute to process improvements while continuing to drive the integrity of our financial administration. You are able to zoom out and understand the bigger picture whilst keeping track of the details and without losing control. You are an expert in understanding what is important and if it is urgent.
Critical items on our upcoming roadmap? The SAP S/4HANA migration, redefining core processes and controls accordingly & the full financial integration of our newly acquired subsidiaries besides of course managing group and local audits.
Key responsibilities:- Contribute in setting up a risk and control framework whilst redefining the processes and controls and lead continuous improvement initiatives, driving automation and optimizing finance processes to support a scalable finance organization.
- Highly independent role that contributes to financial control strategy and support the broader Group Finance function, including group reporting, tax, treasury and cross-functional finance initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance on complex accounting matters (Dutch GAAP - leasing and asset valuations) and apply professional judgment to solve complex financial and reporting challenges with no clear precedent.
- Sharing technical knowledge with the financial control team and reviewing their work, coaching the finance operations team upon key process changes and supporting a high-performing finance teamÂ
- Together with the Manager Accounting & Control: Continuously improve the internal control framework, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, internal policies and financial governance standards
- Oversee the preparation of statutory annual accounts the primary finance contact for local operating entities and statutory audits
- Own the Group's transfer pricing documentation and ensure annual compliance with transfer pricing requirements
- The Sr. Financial Controller RA is reporting into the manager Accounting and Control with a dotted line to the CFO for all relevant significant accounting matters.
The gear you need:
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial control or audit, preferably within an international environment or Big 4
- RA accreditation required
- Extensive knowledge of Dutch GAAP and financial reporting
- Eager to learn new skills / systems in a fast paced environment where priorities can change quicklyÂ
- Strong analytical skills – you can quickly interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights;
- Proactive mindset – you take initiative, anticipate challenges, and propose improvements before they become issues;
- Experience coaching or mentoring finance professionals
- Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch, German or Danish are a plus
