We are seeking a highly analytical and business-oriented Senior Financial Analyst with 8+ years of progressive finance experience, supporting Technology organizations with a strong emphasis on Application Development, Software Engineering, and Digital Transformation initiatives This role serves as a strategic finance partner to Technology leadership, providing financial planning, forecasting, investment analysis, and decision support for application development portfolios, agile delivery teams, software investments, and technology modernization programs.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of software development lifecycles, resource planning, capitalized software accounting, cloud technologies, and technology investment management. This individual will influence key business decisions through insightful analysis, financial modeling, and proactive partnership with engineering, product, program management, and executive leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for Application Development Organizations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models supporting technology investments, software development projects, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and provide variance explanations across labor, contractor, software, cloud, and project-related expenses.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to Technology and Finance leadership to improve financial performance and resource utilization.

Technology Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to Application Development leaders, Engineering Directors, Product Managers, and Program Management teams.
  • Support investment decisions by evaluating business cases, ROI, NPV, payback periods, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses.
  • Translate technical initiatives into financial impacts and communicate results effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Resource & Portfolio Management

  • Manage financial planning for technology labor, including employees, contractors, onshore/offshore resources, and managed service providers.
  • Support workforce planning and capacity management activities across development teams.
  • Analyze project funding requirements and ensure alignment with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.

Accounting Support

  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, accruals, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Maintain strong controls and documentation supporting financial and accounting processes.

Executive Reporting & Decision Support

  • Develop executive-level dashboards, KPI reporting, and management presentations highlighting financial and operational performance.
  • Monitor and report on key technology metrics, including capacity analysis between run and change
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and communicate recommendations to leadership.
  • Present financial analyses and strategic recommendations to senior executives and business stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency, forecast accuracy, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Leverage financial systems, automation tools, and data visualization platforms to improve reporting and analytics.
  • Support technology finance transformation initiatives, including cloud cost management, Agile funding models, and portfolio governance enhancements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Technology Finance experience
  • Minimum 5 years supporting Technology, Application Development or IT organizations
  • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, and management reporting.
  • Experience supporting Agile development teams, software development projects, and technology investment portfolios.
  • Knowledge of software capitalization accounting standards and internally developed software accounting practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and financial planning systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnership skills.
  • Excellent executive presentation and communication capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience supporting large-scale application modernization, cloud migration, digital transformation, or enterprise technology programs.
  • Knowledge of Agile, SAFe, or product-based funding models.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and technology cost management.
  • Familiarity with financial planning tools such as Anaplan, Hyperion, Oracle EPM, Adaptive Planning, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed enterprise environments.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $130K - $168K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
