Reporting toFP&ADirector, the Senior Financial Analyst willbe responsible forprocessing and analyzing of financial data,driving financial performance andsupportingbudgetingand forecasting processes
The successful candidate will bring critical thinking, a strong attention to detail and a desire to “dig in” to learn the business while being mindful of the strong culture and commitment of the Company to provide the best care possible for our patients.
This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Support the annual budgeting process, including preparation, monthly forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis with clear explanations in collaboration with operations
Prepare and deliver management reporting packages, including standard and recurring reports, KPIs, and insightful commentary for strategic analysis
Partner with Finance Business Partners and operational teams to generate insights, interpret financial results, and support data-driven decision-making (e.g., staffing, capex, operational initiatives)
Build andmaintainstrong relationships with business unit leaders, includingdistrictdirectors,operationand clinicalleadership
Ensure compliance with Extendicare’s accounting systems and procedures, and support resolution of field-related financial issues
Drive process improvements and efficienciesleveragingfinancial and businessexpertise
Coach and support Financial Analysts, and contribute to special projects asrequired
Present financial insights to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner
Complete other duties as assigned
Whatwe’relooking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
3-5years experiencein operations finance and/or accounting related role
CPA certificationor nearcompletion is an asset.
Advance Excel skills.
Strong communicationskills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic andfast paceenvironment
Accounting experience with large-scale Enterprise Reporting systems, knowledge of Workday preferred
