Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide support to the finance team in the US Trade Books division. This position is the perfect opportunity for someone who likes to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment!

This is a hybrid role based in NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the monthly forecasts and the annual budget analysis.
  • Assists in the monthly financial close: analyzes results, including variance reconciliation, generates reports and initiates journal entries.
  • Coordinates and manages the preparation of the monthly metrics memos/presentations.
  • Researches and analyzes title financial information.
  • Helps facilitate the title P&L acquisition process, assists editorial staff in preparing and understanding P&Ls, and provides ad hoc support with P&Ls.
  • Assists with the forecasting system, running reports and testing data and model performance.
  • Evaluates current business processes, eliminates duplications, and coordinates information requirements in order to increase productivity across various business units.
  • Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Manages special projects on an ad hoc basis.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience; background in finance, accounting, economics, or business preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance concepts and principals
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify and solve problems
  • Ability to deliver value added analyses
  • Ability to take initiative on projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Hyperion Planning, Smartview, and PowerBI knowledge a plus

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
