Job Description

Brady Corporation is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative Senior Financial Analyst – External Reporting. In this key global role based at our Milwaukee headquarters, you will support the preparation, analysis, and execution of SEC filings in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. Reporting directly to the Manager, SEC Reporting, you will work closely with the global finance and accounting organization to ensure proper accounting and reporting of the total company consolidated financial statements. driving both technical excellence and compliance across our international business units.

Qualifications

SEC & External Financial Reporting

  • SEC Filings: Assist in the preparation, drafting, and filing of Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, and other critical filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Footnotes & Disclosures: Support the preparation of financial statements and related footnotes/disclosures for the quarterly earnings release, 10-Q, and 10-K, including managing the XBRL tagging process.
  • Filing Coordination: Coordinate the distribution and review of the 10-Q and 10-K drafts with internal stakeholders, including legal, senior leadership, and external auditors.

Accounting, Compliance & Operations

  • Month-End Close: Support the monthly and quarterly financial statement consolidation and close process, focusing on preparation of the consolidated statement of cash flows.
  • Lease & Equity Accounting: Maintain and ensure proper accounting for leases globally and lead the accounting and reconciliation for total company equity-based compensation and other comprehensive income.
  • Account Reconciliations: Prepare or review global account reconciliations on a monthly or quarterly basis to ensure balance sheet integrity.
  • M&A Integration: Assist with the financial and operational integration of recent acquisitions.

Technical Research & Reporting

  • GAAP & SEC Monitoring: Monitor emerging U.S. GAAP standards and SEC guidance to ensure internal procedures and financial disclosures remain fully compliant.
  • Technical Support: Act as a technical accounting resource for global finance teams, supporting GAAP inquiries, performing policy research, and documenting conclusions.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience within public accounting (Big 4 or regional mid-tier) or a corporate financial accounting and reporting role.
  • Exceptional foundational knowledge of the U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and corporate close procedures with an impeccable attention to detail.
  • A self-starter mindset with a proven ability to work independently, manage tight reporting deadlines, and drive issues to logical completion.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting treatments to cross-functional partners globally.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (or actively working toward licensure), preferred
