Join us in a pivotal accounting role where you'll shape financial reporting for a global technology leader. You'll work on statutory compliance and financial statements for Amazon Web Services and our satellite connectivity initiative, serving communities worldwide with innovative broadband solutions. Key job responsibilities
- Prepare month-end statutory close journal entries and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Develop interim and year-end statutory financial statements for legal entities, applying appropriate accounting frameworks and principles
- Coordinate the statutory filing process for legal entities across multiple regions, managing timelines and regulatory requirements
- Support external audit activities by responding to audit requests, providing documentation, and facilitating communication between internal teams and external auditors
- Analyze complex business transactions and develop technical accounting position papers to determine appropriate accounting treatment
A day in the life
In this role, you'll focus on statutory reporting and compliance work that directly supports our financial integrity across the organization. You might start your day reviewing month-end close requirements, then transition into preparing statutory financial statements for our legal entities. Throughout the week, you'll coordinate with our external audit partners, develop technical accounting analyses for complex transactions, and manage submissions to regulatory bodies. You'll also engage with finance teams across different regions and business units, ensuring alignment on accounting treatments and timely completion of filings. Your work will span multiple time zones and require coordination with colleagues in various functions, giving you exposure to how global financial operations work at scale.

Amazon Affinity GroupsBasic Qualifications
- CPA
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent
- Experience working with stakeholders
- Strong audit and technical accounting experience with accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization
- Certified accountant qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or other accounting frameworks;
- Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules
