OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of Senior Analyst, Decision Support is multi-faceted, with the primary responsibility being the investment governance of the commercial market segment for Cogeco Connexion Inc. and oxio. This key role within the company aims to establish, supervise, and monitor corporate policies and internal controls related to financial decision-making.

Another key aspect consists of providing leadership in the execution of financial planning and analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and options to achieve the desired Economic Value Added (EVA). The Senior Analyst is recognized as an expert in their field and acts as a central pivot, providing recommendations in a strategic context to facilitate informed financial decisions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Planning: Actively participates in the financial planning process with senior management, specifically by being responsible for modeling complex financial analyses.

  • Business Relations: Develops business relationships with various stakeholders of the strategic plan to support the commercial segment and ensure alignment between decision-making and desired EVA results.

  • Advisory & Analysis: Conducts in-depth financial analyses and acts as an advisor, providing recommendations regarding project decision-making for various organizational stakeholders and commercial segment partners (Marketing, Products, Sales, etc.).

  • Business Impact Assessment: Evaluates the business impacts on Cogeco Connexion and its acquisitions (oxio, NRBN) through thorough financial analyses, and identifies opportunities to improve working methods in order to minimize financial risks.

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME): Acts as the central pivot (SME) for financial issues for both the finance team and commercial segment partners. Coaches and guides colleagues in the development of their deliverables.

  • Reporting: Responsible for the financial analysis of most commercial segment initiatives (Cogeco Connexion) and provides reports to senior management.

  • Financial Communication: Analyzes and communicates key results of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data to directors and senior management. Simplifies complex data to extract key messages and influence decision-making.

  • Best Practices: Develops and implements best practices for decision-making within the finance team, such as creating financial models that can be used by analysts or business partners.

  • Process Improvement: Develops controls, management tools, and training documents to facilitate work within the team.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Academic Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

Work Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in financial analyst roles.

Specific Skills

  • Creative and challenges the status quo.

  • Ability to simplify complex information.

  • Very strong communication skills.

  • Demonstrated autonomy in project delivery.

  • Strong aptitude for financial analysis.

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and Google Suite.

  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.

  • Promotes teamwork.

  • Very good knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written.
