About Financial Services team

At Grant Thornton, we are committed to delivering forward-looking, value-added solutions to our clients. Our Financial Services Department brings together expertise from Assurance, Advisory, and Tax to serve dynamic organizations in the financial sector.

As part of this department, our Financial Advisory team plays a key role in supporting financial institutions and corporates throughout the entire financing and transaction lifecycle. We design financing and restructuring solutions, manage transactions, negotiations, and documentation—helping clients achieve financial sustainability and long-term value creation.

Our Financial Advisory team is experiencing strong growth, resulting in a number of opportunities arising for talented and ambitious individuals looking to develop a career in Financial Advisory services.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Become from day one a contributing team member, performing in a professional environment alongside a vibrant and exciting team of experienced financial advisory professionals.
  
• Support corporate clients and financial institutions throughout the entire lifecycle of financing, investment, and restructuring projects, providing strategic guidance and practical solutions.
  
• Analyze financial data and prepare business plans and financial models
  
• Design financing and restructuring solutions, including debt profiling, refinancing, and capital structure optimization.
  
• Support negotiations with banks, investors, and other stakeholders.
  
• Learn and develop technical and personal skills to support achievement of career goals, through a blend of structured learning, coaching and experiences.
• Gain diverse experience, with each project offering new opportunities to expand your technical expertise over a wide range of sectors

To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills)

• 2+ years’ experience in financial analysis, corporate and/or project finance, or related fields. Exposure to financial modelling or advisory projects will be considered an asset.
• Excellent academic background, including a bachelor’s degree from a top tier university in Accounting and Finance / Banking / Economics, or any other related field with a strong quantitative focus.
• Excellent written and verbal skills both in Greek and English.
• Advanced knowledge in MS Office packages, in particular MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong numerical / analytical ability and a sound grasp of financial accounting.
• Strong team participation, communication, and interpersonal skills, particularly in teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail and project management skills.
• Willingness to learn, proactivity and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas and work under tight deadlines.
• Professionalism and consistency in approach to client work, internal business, and practice development.
• Military obligations fulfilled (if applicable).
  

Ideally, you’ll also have

• An MBA or a master’s degree in accounting / finance / Auditing, or any other related field with strong business and quantitative focus.
• Knowledge of IFRS and Greek GAAP.
• An active CPA/ACCA/ACA/CFA certification (or in a final stage of completion).
• Solid negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally.
