North Sydney, NSW | Permanent Role | Drive Financial Performance, Forecasting and Strategic Insights

CIMIC Group is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to support the delivery of high-quality financial planning, forecasting and reporting across CPB Contractors. Working within the Financial Planning & Reporting team, this role will provide accurate, timely and transparent financial information that enables informed decision-making and supports business performance across the Group.

About the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to lead key financial planning, forecasting and reporting activities while partnering with stakeholders across the business to improve commercial outcomes, identify risks and opportunities, and drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes and reporting.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing month-end reporting, forecasting and business planning deliverables using OneStream and other financial systems.
• Preparing detailed monthly variance analysis, providing insights into actual, budget and forecast performance for senior management.
• Managing annual budgeting, business planning and rolling forecast processes, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, work-in-hand and net contract debtor reporting.
• Analysing financial and operational data from ERP, OneStream and project systems to identify trends, risks, opportunities and performance drivers.
• Partnering with Business Unit finance teams and project stakeholders to develop a detailed understanding of project performance and forecast outcomes.
• Collaborating with Pre-Contracts and Risk teams to assess pipeline opportunities and forecast future work-in-hand.
• Supporting the preparation of executive-level reporting and financial information for senior leadership, including the Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team.
• Overseeing the delivery of monthly management reporting requirements to CIMIC and contributing to Group-wide reporting initiatives.
• Providing guidance and support to stakeholders on financial systems, forecasting methodologies and reporting processes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, reporting quality, automation and overall process efficiency.
• Working collaboratively across Finance functions, including Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Finance Systems and Business Unit Finance teams.
• Providing coaching and mentoring support to junior team members as required.
• Responding to ad hoc reporting requests and financial analysis requirements from senior stakeholders.

About You – Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A degree qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
• 5-7 years' experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance, Accounting or related disciplines.
• Experience working in a large, complex organisation, ideally with global operations.
• Strong financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.
• Experience managing budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes within a corporate environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong capability working with financial systems and reporting platforms.
• Experience with OneStream, ERP systems and financial reporting tools (highly regarded).
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level reporting and presentations.
• Strong project management capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Construction, infrastructure or services industry experience (desirable).
• International FP&A, finance, accounting or audit experience (desirable).
• A collaborative approach, high level of professionalism and commitment to supporting broader team and Group objectives.
