All about the role

We are looking for an analytical and hands-on Lead Financial Accountant – R2R to take ownership of the end-to-end financial reporting, variance analysis, and process optimization for our Danish entities.

As a senior member of the R2R team, you will be crucial in ensuring reporting accuracy, identifying financial trends, and delivering insights that support data-driven strategic decision-making. You will lead the R2R activities for the Danish market, drive financial efficiency, work with cross-functional teams, and support automation initiatives across the wider finance function.

These are some key ingredients to the role

• Own the end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) cycle for the two Danish entities, including preparation and review of local statutory financial reports (e.g., "bridge file") to ensure strict compliance with IFRS and local SFS requirements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, performing detailed journal entries, in-depth balance sheet reconciliations, managing intercompany accounting, and supporting Onestream consolidation.
• Oversee all payroll-related accounting, including performing specific and detailed reconciliations with SKAT (the Danish tax authorities' online platform).
• Lead the monthly flux analysis process and perform detailed variance analysis across key accounts (e.g., leasing, accruals, fixed assets), investigating discrepancies and presenting actionable insights to senior management.
• Drive intellectual curiosity by applying and developing data-handling and coding skills (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI) to automate manual R2R processes, improve reporting accuracy, and contribute to larger finance transformation projects.
• Act as the key point of contact for local internal and external auditors, facilitating a smooth and transparent audit process, while collaborating with Finance, Payroll, and Tax teams across entities.
• Deliver accurate, high-quality, and actionable financial insights to senior stakeholders, directly supporting strategic and operational decision-making.

What Will You Bring to the Table?

• Qualifications: A fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) or actively pursuing qualification.
• Experience: Proven experience in financial reporting, R2R accounting, or financial analysis, ideally within a multi-national environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong technical accounting skills, with expert knowledge in IFRS and SFS preparation.
• System Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Workday, Oracle, or similar) and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, Power Query). Experience with payroll-related accounting and reconciliations is essential.
• Analytical Mindset: A strong analytical mindset with proven experience in identifying financial trends and driving process efficiencies.
• Growth Mindset: A strong interest in self-learning and developing data-handling and coding skills (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI).
• Core Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across international teams and prioritize tasks effectively.
