As a Senior Finance Launch Manager in Planning and Launch Finance Compliance, you will coordinate cross-functional execution that turns ambiguous business ideas into structured launch plans, clear ownership, and informed readiness decisions.
You will join the New Commerce Finance Compliance Engagement Team within Microsoft Planning and Launch, partnering across Business Planning, Business Development, Finance subject matter experts, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Readiness. In this role, you will clarify launch intent and scope, coordinate required teams, monitor compliance execution, identify and escalate risks, and help drive launches through go/no-go, deployment, and hypercare.

Drive end-to-end launch execution. Coordinate day-to-day launch management across Envision, Plan, Execute, Deploy, and Close. Establish clear objectives, intended customer outcomes, success criteria, critical-path dependencies, owners, and go/no-go expectations.
Clarify intent, scope, scenarios, and deliverables. Partner with Business Planning, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Readiness teams to define what is launching, what is in and out of scope, what scenarios must be supported, and what must be delivered before pilot, general availability, or phased release.
Engage required teams and formalize governance. Coordinate engineering, operations, finance, customer readiness, support, and business owners. Formalize stakeholder governance, establish engagement rhythms, and surface ownership or coverage gaps.
Translate deal mechanics into finance requirements. Partner with finance subject matter experts to develop finance requirements, scenario coverage, controls, and risk-based testing plans that connect commercial intent to expected financial outcomes.
Monitor portfolio health and launch decision quality. Maintain status, risks, blockers, decisions, sign-offs, monitoring plans, and dashboard metrics across assigned launches. Use results to reinforce team accountability, coordinate remediation, and escalate issues to management and corporate stakeholders as needed.
Identify risks and ensure effective controls. Identify compliance risks and emerging launch risks, assess business and company reputation impacts, and recommend practical mitigation proposals. Review business and functional team actions to ensure controls operate as intended.
Finance Compliance IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
