Job Description

The Leidos Digital Sector has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager supporting the Defense Agencies Division. This position serves as the finance lead for one of the Sector's critical growth divisions, partnering directly with Division leadership to drive financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term business strategy across a rapidly expanding portfolio of defense programs.

The Division currently manages approximately $175 million in annual revenue, with projected growth to more than $500 million by 2030 The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the Division's financial performance and serve as the primary financial advisor to Division leadership on business performance, growth strategy, and investment decisions. This role provides strategic financial leadership across multiple programs while supporting executive decision-making, operational excellence, business growth, and long-range planning.

We are seeking a strategic finance leader who will serve as a trusted business partner to Division leadership, Program Managers, customers, and Sector executives. This individual will lead a team of finance professionals responsible for portfolio execution while driving Division financial strategy, forecasting, operational performance, process improvement, and growth initiatives. The successful candidate will influence executive decision making through financial analysis, develop innovative solutions that improve business performance, and help shape the future direction of one of the Sector's fastest-growing organizations.

This is a fully remote position with some travel required for major meetings.

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing and driving financial forecasts and analyzing the program’s revenue and costs.
  • Managing a small to mid-sized team of business finance professional staff to ensure financial compliance, cost management, budget development and proposal support.
  • Communicating key business insights and recommendations to achieve the program’s current and future goals and making specific recommendations which will result in cost reduction and profit/process improvements.
  • Supporting program invoicing and funding deliverables.
  • Interpreting operating results, evaluating and approving expenditure decisions, and identifying operational risk factors.
  • Managing the month-end close process and performing variance/trend analyses.
  • Supporting and driving program growth initiatives.
  • Managing and developing relationships with the external customer; operating as a business partner to improve financial performance.
  • Creating business cases inclusive of financial modeling.
  • Performing program-level risk management assessments.
  • Liaise between program, division, and broader enterprise stakeholders

The position requires strong organization, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills. Successful candidate must evaluate, monitor and implement policies, practices and functional performance standards for the Business Operations team. In addition, candidate must possess the ability to work independently, in a team environment, with various organizational levels and manage multiple priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years prior relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience leading teams, projects or initiatives
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams or projects (Prior employee-management experience not required).
  • Comprehensive Program Finance experience; familiar with multiple contract types.
  • Detail oriented, independent worker, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Excel experience and government contracting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Leidos Financial Systems, Insight and Contract Setup Processes
  • Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence and Power BI Dashboards

Pay Range:

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
