Great things start here

At RACV, we exist to be a smart choice, a trusted organisation that delivers value for members, customers and communities. As we continue to invest in Technology and large‑scale transformation, we’re looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to partner with our Technology leaders and shape smarter investment decisions across a complex, high‑value portfolio.

This is a highly influential role, sitting at the intersection of strategy, technology and finance, where your insight will directly impact how we prioritise funding, manage delivery and realise value.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Planning & Performance, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior Technology leaders, translating strategy and roadmaps into robust financial plans. You’ll own end‑to‑end financial oversight for Technology run and change spend, while driving performance, accountability and value creation across the portfolio. You will also be responsible for group project reporting & governance.

This role blends advanced financial analysis, project accounting, commercial judgement and stakeholder influence, and is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑moving, investment‑heavy environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Technology executives to translate strategy into budgets, forecasts and investment plans
  • Lead end‑to‑end budgeting and rolling forecasting for the Technology division
  • Build scenario models and sensitivity analysis to support portfolio prioritisation and funding decisions
  • Own financial management of major Technology projects, including forecasting, cost control, capitalisation and benefits tracking
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across run costs, project spend, vendors, capex vs opex and benefits realisation
  • Responsible for group Project accounting principles and frameworks
  • Deliver clear, insight‑driven monthly performance reporting with strong narrative and recommendations
  • Develop and review business cases for Technology investments, assessing ROI, risks and total cost of ownership
  • Ensure strong financial controls, governance and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
  • Build trusted relationships with Technology leaders, project managers and cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Lead a small team and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for

  • CA or CPA qualified, with tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or economics
  • 7+ years’ post‑graduate experience in senior commercial finance, business partnering or project finance roles
  • Strong background in Technology and project‑based environments (capital‑intensive portfolios highly regarded)
  • Deep knowledge of project accounting, financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting
  • Proven experience developing and evaluating complex business cases
  • Highly credible communicator, able to translate complex financial concepts into clear, decision‑focused advice
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior leaders
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems

What we offer

  • Flexible working arrangements and a supportive, high‑performing finance culture
  • Discounts on home and car insurance plus RACV roadside care.
  • Club Membership and discounts across RACV resorts.
  • Discounts from corporate partners updated monthly.
