We believe that our strength is not just in our steel but the diversity of our workforce. Our people make the difference.

Are you a commercially astute, qualified Finance professional who thrives on influencing business performance in a complex operational environment? Do you enjoy working alongside senior leaders, turning financial insight into meaningful action, and driving sustainable improvement across manufacturing operations?

We're looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner who combines strong technical expertise with a hands-on, strategic approach. You'll be confident challenging performance, identifying opportunities for cost optimisation and efficiency improvements, and supporting key business decisions through robust financial analysis and modelling.

You may already be operating at a Senior/Finance Business Partner level within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, energy, logistics, construction, or another asset-intensive sector. Experience of turnaround, restructuring, or business recovery environments would be particularly valuable, as would a proven track record of delivering cost reduction, cash generation, and performance improvement initiatives.

Most importantly, you'll be a collaborative and influential leader, capable of building strong relationships across operations and finance, engaging stakeholders at all levels, and helping shape the future direction of a business where your contribution will make a real and visible impact.

If you're looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity where you can partner with senior operational leaders, drive change, and play a key role in improving business performance, we'd love to hear from you.

Make a tangible impact

As the Senior Finance Business Partner you will provide insightful financial analysis, challenge performance, help improve short and medium-term financial outcomes while supporting longer-term strategy, forecasting, and budgeting, translating complex financial data into actionable business strategies that support our production goals and overall company objectives.

Your key accountabilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Strategic Financial Partnership: Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Corby Work’s Manager and wider site leadership team, providing proactive financial guidance and insights to optimise operational performance and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Turnaround Support Partner with leadership to identify and execute restructuring initiatives, including cost reduction programmes, footprint optimisation, and performance recovery actions.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual Budgeting and Standards process along with periodic forecasting requirements for Tubes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business targets.
  • P&L Ownership Provide end-to-end visibility and accountability on site-level P&L performance, proactively identifying gaps and driving corrective actions.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting: Present comprehensive financial performance reports, including variance analysis against budget/forecast, cost-of-goods-sold analysis, production efficiency and profitability metrics. Identify key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Cost Management & Optimisation: Drive initiatives to identify and realise cost savings, improve cost structures, and enhance operational efficiency within manufacturing. Conduct detailed cost-benefit analysis for capital expenditure projects and operational improvements.
  • Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Management: Evaluate, model and monitor capital investment proposals for Tubes, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and expected returns. Track project performance against financial metrics.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimise inventory levels, analyse inventory valuations, and assess the financial impact of inventory decisions.
  • Decision Support: Provide robust financial modelling and analytical support for critical business decisions, including new product introductions, production capacity planning, make-or-buy analyses, and strategic investments.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, and controls within manufacturing, driving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with manufacturing site managers, functional heads, and other finance teams to foster a culture of financial accountability and commercial awareness.
  • Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements within the manufacturing finance function.
  • Risk Management: Supporting the identification and mitigation of key business risks

We see your potential

As a Senior Finance Business Partner you will need a degree or equivalent in a related field.

A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CIMA, ACCA) is essential.

In terms of experience, you will bring:

  • Strong experience in financial leadership roles with P&L and cash flow responsibility within a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy industry environment.
  • Hands-on experience working in turnaround, restructuring, or financially stressed environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cost restructuring, cash generation, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with senior operational stakeholders in high-pressure or rapidly changing business contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for complex operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

We welcome candidates from a broad range of industries. Direct steel sector experience is not required, and we are particularly interested in individuals who bring restructuring or turnaround experience from other sectors.
