The Senior Field Engineer prepares for and executes onshore/offshore pipeline and umbilical Pre-Commissioning operations. This will be a KL-based position for the initial 12+ months of engineering, leading into the project execution phase. Cronos SURF Project in 1,400 to 2,260m water depth. Umbilical specialty role available to lead the umbilical scope. The Senior Field Engineer will maintain strong interfaces with the various disciplines within the business line. The main interfaces for Pre-Commissioning are: Marine Operations Engineers, Engineering, SCM, QHSES, Environmental Specialists, Vessel Operations Managers, and Marine Construction Manager.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work with the Lead Pre-Commissioning Engineer to develop Pre-Commissioning execution methodologies for offshore and onshore projects
Provide key inputs for engineering and planning to be developed
Define and order equipment and installation aids
Specify and identify suitable Pre-Commissioning spreads and vessels
Prepare Task Plans with support from Lead Pre-Commissioning Engineer
Review of Subcontractor Pre-Commissioning procedures
Prepare Readiness review, Constructability, HAZID
Conduct site visits
Prepare Master Equipment List
Procurement of materials and services
Interface with Pre-Commissioning Subcontractor on deck layouts. Obtain seafastening packages for vessel spreads and interface with installation team
Equipment inventory, preservation and staging for each mobilization
Attend function tests
Mobilize Pre-Commissioning equipment and vessels to execute work scopes
Arrange the testing and load-out of Pre-Commissioning equipment and installation aids
Coordinate the execution of onshore & offshore Pre-Commissioning work scopes
Coordinate the demobilization of the Pre-Commissioning equipment, marine spread and the off-hire of subcontract equipment
Work at site (onshore and offshore) as required by the project
Prepare MOC's with support from Lead Pre-Commissioning Engineer
Compile and issue Site Memo’s and maintain system completion plan
Compile and present return of experience and lesson learned documents
To train and mentor Field Engineers
Work with the Pre-Commissioning Technical Authority to align on Pre-Commissioning execution methodologies
Preparation of subcontractor scopes of works
Manage Pre-Commissioning subcontracts

Essential Qualifications and Education:
7+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry working for major Contractors
Experience managing a team of more than 2 Engineers
The following experience is required:
General experience of all shallow and deepwater water installation operations
Rigid & flexible pipeline Pre-Commissioning experience - execution of a minimum of 8 projects
Umbilical pre-commissioning experience - execution of a minimum of 4 projects
