Job Description

We're accepting applications now and will begin active recruitment in September 2026.

Altea is Canada's premier fitness and wellness destination. Multiple boutique studios, modern recovery, and lifestyle amenities, all under one roof, for one membership. We bring together the quality of a standalone boutique with the breadth of a full service club, and we deliver an experience that members build their week around. We are the membership members actually use. Everything we do is designed to deliver a premium member experience.

The Senior Facilities Technician is the person who makes sure the facility matches the member experience. You run a structured preventative maintenance program, execute repairs correctly the first time, coordinate with external trades, and keep the building safe, compliant, and operating at the level a premium club demands. You don't wait for things to break. You anticipate, you plan, you prevent.

If you take real pride in a facility that runs seamlessly because you are paying attention, this role was built for you.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
  • The Preventative Maintenance Program. Scheduled PM tasks across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, fitness equipment, and common areas. Systems run before they fail.
  • General Repairs and Reactive Maintenance. You diagnose accurately, fix properly, and close the loop so the same issue does not come back.
  • Vendor and Contractor Coordination. For specialized work outside your scope, you manage the relationship, the schedule, and the standard.
  • Safety and Compliance. The building is code-compliant and audit-ready. You do not cut corners on safety.
  • Records and Documentation. As-Builts, schematics, O&M manuals, spare parts inventory in the CMMS, work order logs. You keep everything current
WHO YOU ARE

You are here because you are proud of the building you work in and you want to keep it that way.

  • You are proactive by nature. You walk the building and you notice things before they become problems.
  • You take pride in doing it right. A repair is not done until it is done properly.
  • You are technically capable and self directed. You diagnose, plan, execute, and document. When you commit to a timeline, people can count on it.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a skilled trades role, premium environment is a strong asset
  • Broad technical capability across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and carpentry
  • Experience running or contributing to a structured preventative maintenance program
  • Ability to read and interpret As-Builts, schematics, and O&M manuals
  • Valid driver's licence required. Driving to pick up supplies is a regular component of this role
  • Relevant trades certifications are a strong asset
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C, maintained annually (employer paid)
  • Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement

WHAT YOU'LL EARN

This is a full-time salaried role compensated at a level that reflects the standard we hold. All rates of pay are confidential. Beyond base salary, you will receive group health benefits, a complimentary Altea membership and Plus One, an extensive vacation package plus paid Flex days, a cellphone allowance, and Maternity and Paternity leave top-up.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

The facility runs without drama. Preventative maintenance is scheduled, executed, and documented. Reactive work orders are closed correctly the first time. When something does go wrong, it is caught early, communicated clearly, and resolved before it becomes a member experience issue. The standard of the building matches the standard of the club.

We are an equal opportunity employer and believe in treating everyone fairly regardless of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, national origin, language, citizenship, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, gender identity, gender expression, record of offences, disability, or any other legally protected factors. Accommodations are available upon request.

We thank you for your interest; however, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
