Scope:

This role supports the Facilities and Maintenance operations across our distribution site at Delta Park in Fareham. The role ensures that all facilities and maintenance activities—whether delivered by the in-house team, contractors, or sub-contractors—are completed to the highest standard, within required timeframes, and in alignment with cost control expectations.

Working within the Facilities and Maintenance Department, the role is responsible for coordinating and managing facilities contracts covering a range of hard and soft services. These include Air Conditioning, Compressed Air, Chilled Water, Building Maintenance, Electrical Systems, Vending, Pest Control, Cleaning, and other essential site services.

The post holder will ensure that all planned and reactive maintenance activities meet business needs and statutory requirements, maintaining compliance across all sites while supporting internal customers and operational teams.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Manage and assign planned and reactive maintenance activities via Blue Mountain and Service Desk requests, ensuring KPI targets and service standards are met.
  • Support the Maintenance team with stock management, compliance, and resource coordination.
  • Support with the daily activities of Facilities, allocating reactive building maintenance tasks to ensure timely, effective repairs to buildings and infrastructure.
  • Take responsibility for facilities and maintenance services including general repairs, external doors, lifts, office furniture, and various site equipment and plant—assigning work appropriately.
  • Manage contractors in line with the contractor control policy and oversee their performance.
  • Issue permits to work for all relevant work activities.
  • Provide feedback to internal customers regarding progress and resolution of reactive maintenance requests.
  • Maintain and update the Subcontractor Health & Safety database, ensuring Declarations of Intent and insurance documentation are current.
  • Continuously update personal skills and knowledge, keeping abreast of new technologies and industry best practice.
  • Ensure legal, statutory, and organisational standards are consistently met, with accurate and current records maintained.
  • Develop a full understanding of all business units across all sites and build strong relationships with key contacts and peers.
  • Actively participate in contract negotiations and renewals, supporting the procurement of services.
  • Promote customer-focused service delivery, ensuring service providers understand site needs and integrate effectively into the business.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working within a Facilities Maintenance environment.
  • Working knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to read and understand technical information and documentation.
  • Ability to manage and generate subcontracts in collaboration with Purchasing.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and its application in FM environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of risk assessments and the creation of safety/procedural documentation (advantageous).


Work Environment

  • Primarily office based with frequent mobility required to support activities across Delta Park and Brunel Way (both located in Fareham).
  • Some tasks require working externally to oversee maintenance operations.
  • Periods of prolonged computer use are expected.


Experience and Education

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a Facilities and Maintenance department (preferred).
  • Good levels of English and Mathematics.
