A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Senior Facilities Engineer, you will support the Penang Facilities sites, be an active team member supporting the Facilities department programs and procedures that promote a well-managed and well-maintained site. You will primarily provide all aspects of facility engineering management problem solving is the key function of the position. Subject areas will include gas detection systems, PLC programming, building management systems, gas detection systems, preventive maintenance, supporting cost avoidance initiatives and coordination of budgeting, maintaining records, and providing general support services for the operation. The position will also participate in the culture of employee health & safety and good corporate stewardship. In this role, you will report to Senior Facilities Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Provide technical support during the factory building construction phase, close coordination on progress, reporting and addressing any issues that arise.
  • To support any activities related to factory startup program.
  • Responsible for daily/routine operation and maintenance activities of various utilities equipment/systems, Compressed Dried Air, Cooling Tower, Chiller, Heat Recovery Hot Water System, Plant Wide Air Conditioning System, Cooling/Chilled Water System, City Water Supply System, Fire Protection System, Gasses) including upgrading, improvement and other related facility systems.
  • Identify the parameters to be trend in the BMS data and focusing on data analysis to identify opportunities to improve the reliability/efficiency of the Critical equipment or processes.
  • Planning and supervise effective and efficient preventive and predictive maintenance program, conduct trouble shooting and implementing preventive, corrective and mitigation actions/measures.
  • To manage contractors and ensure they are complying with Safety Procedures.
  • Experience in liaison with local authorities’, government regulatory bodies to achieve utilities equipment compliance and utility services provider.
  • To support and coordinate in Major activities like Annual Shutdown, Overhaul etc.
  • Assist the Senior Facility Manager in the day-to-day oversite of the MA PM building programs. Focus on making building systems safer, more efficient, more reliable, and easier to service and maintain.
  • Provide manufacturing plant operational support on complex issues/projects as they arise.
  • Work with building management and control systems particularly gas detection systems
  • Manage preventive maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities programs using CMMS software.
  • Monitor building utilities, for maintenance, and cost control is support of ESG initiatives.
  • Maintain monthly PM reports, KPI information of collection of data analytics.
  • Build partnerships with third-party vendors, services providers, and contactors, while ensuring most cost-effective methods are being used.
  • Research and implement new technology to improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversees Facility projects, budget, and contractors for project installation; Knowledge of building and life safety codes Design, install and maintain gas detection or building management systems.
  • Support department vendor management, quotes, PO process, invoices and payments tracking.
  • Support the department in space planning efforts including moves, adds, and changes.
  • Assist with site space allocation, layout activities and support of facilities expansion/consolidation projects.
  • Assist with preparation of reporting for the site, including metrics, project accomplishments and open issues.
  • Provide technical support during the factory building construction phase.
  • Experience with data analytics.
  • Conduction operational reviews of a facilities mechanical or other building systems; may include field work and travel to various sites.
  • Investigate and evaluate facility problems and suggest improvements to the systems.
  • Investigate unique problems related to buildings in the area of energy, mechanical systems or other building infrastructure systems; suggest and implement solutions.
  • Interact with other team members, engineers, and Operations to solve problems.

Skills You Bring:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent facilities experience.
  • 5+ years of facilities engineering, and operations experience required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, UPS, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to articulate and explain technical concepts to non-technical trained stakeholder.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with Instrumentation, design, installation and equipment startup a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD a plus.
  • Experience with EH&S is a plus.
  • Experienced in factory startup is added advantage.
  • Position is required to report during emergency events.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead the team and experienced in leading a task or project.
  • Good personal traits and characteristics, high integrity, trustworthy, reliable and honest.
  • Strong team player and ability to build positive collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and plant staff.
