Job Description

1 Resource Group is looking to hire an advanced, creative, and highly motivated Welder III to work out of our Harrison, OH facility. As a Senior Fabricator/Welder you will be responsible for welding, fabricating, and repairing components from drawings, blueprints, and sample parts. We are looking for a self-starter that displays a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality workmanship. Based on our small team environment, dependability is critical, including the ability to work overtime when needed. This is a day shift position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding, fabricating, and restoring components from drawings, blueprints, and sample parts for complex, high-precision projects and structural repairs.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior welders.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with team members and internal/external customers.
  • Complies with all company policies/procedures and safety guidelines
  • Ensure work areas are clean and organized efficiently while maintaining security/safety measures.
  • Upholds companies productivity, quality, and safety standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must have a minimum of five years’ industrial/manufacturing welding and fabrication experience.
  • Must be highly proficient and able to pass AWS D1.1 and D1.5 certifications in FCAW (3G & 4G), GMAW (1G, including spray transfer on heavy steel), and SMAW (3G & 4G) processes.
  • Demonstrated advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve welding and fabrication issues effectively.
  • Proven ability to work with jigs and fixtures to ensure precision and repeatability in fabrication.
  • Skills in brake, shear, grinders, and fabrication equipment.
  • Experience in a shop environment utilizing SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes.
  • Capable of working at a fast pace.
  • Self‑motivated, self‑reliant, and able to work with minimal direction.
  • Reliable and dependable (prompt, with good attendance).
  • Capable of multi‑tasking and adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Heavy fabrication and repair experience is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, Registration: Able to pass AWS D1.1 and D1.5 certifications in: FCAW (3G & 4G CERTS), GMAW (1G, including spray transfer on heavy steel) and SMAW (3G & 4G CERTS) processes.

Based on the type of equipment we work on, the job is physical and labor intensive, i.e. heavy lifting, climbing on equipment and grinding out of position. Individuals will be required to frequently sit/drive stand, walk, lift/carry, reach, stoop, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, talk, hear, climb step ladder, engage in repetitive motions, and demonstrate eye/hand/foot coordination. Close vision is required for this job. Employees are required to regularly lift, carry and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Position frequently demands light to heavy physical work. All positions require standing over 90% of the day.

  • This position is based in a welding/fabrication shop setting.
  • Role involves working alone and collaborating as part of a team. Often required to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines, thus some stress may occur.
  • Environmental conditions include frequent exposure to heat, temperature changes, noise, and humidity.
  • Occasionally the performance of this position will require exposure to production/manufacturing areas, which may result in being near moving mechanical parts or being exposed to fumes or airborne particles. These respective areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection or hard hats. The noise level in the production/manufacturing areas is usually loud.

Travel/Other Requirements:Availability as requested/required for after-hour emergency calls, necessary overtime as the workload dictates.
