Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for Senior Fabrication Manufacturing Manager (Level M) to join the Metals Center of Excellence team in Hazelwood, MO.

As a Senior Manufacturing Manager of the Metals Center of Excellence (MCOE) at the St. Louis Site, you would develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives. Additionally, the MCOE leader develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers from multiple programs, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Manages, develops, and motivates employees and mid-level managers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage critical assemblies supporting BDS and BGS customers in building 220, 101, and 830
  • Build and maintain effective customer relationships
  • Strategically plan what is to be achieved and involve all relevant stakeholders; anticipate important or critical events, identifying resource requirements and assigning responsibility for specific work, including deadlines and performance expectations
  • Obtains information and identifies key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-range goal or vision; commits to a course of action to accomplish a long-range goal or vision after developing alternatives based on logical assumptions, facts, available resources, constraints, and organizational values
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the mission and motivation to combine the team’s energy and expertise to achieve a common objective
  • Understands the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance
  • Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, and/or cultures

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 10 years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing
  • More than 5 years of experience with process improvement and lean manufacturing
  • More than 5 years of experience leading or managing cross functional or cross organizational teams within manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, or equivalent work or military experience
  • Experience in a leadership role driving organizational and operational change management
  • Experience achieving planned business goals and objectives and improvement activities utilizing Boeing Production System (BPS) or Lean Manufacturing principles and processes
