Job Description

Requisition Number: 73113

Are you a process engineering professional ready to lead manufacturing innovation at one of the world's most respected materials science companies where your expertise in continuous improvement, data driven problem solving, and process design will directly shape the quality and efficiency of cutting-edge products?

Role Purpose

As a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer at Corning's Reynosa plant, you will be a key technical and project leader responsible for developing, improving, and standardizing manufacturing processes that deliver measurable gains in quality, cost, and capability. You will partner with cross functional teams including manufacturing, development, and equipment suppliers to implement step change technologies and drive continuous improvement from concept through full production. This is a highly visible role with both individual contributor and project leadership responsibilities, requiring a confident engineer who can work independently, manage ambiguity, and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment evaluating cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and driving automation and step change improvements through the full project lifecycle (design, installation, startup, and production acceptance).
  • Apply Six Sigma, DMAIC, and Lean methodologies alongside statistical tools (DOE, GR&R, process capability, regression analysis, hypothesis testing) to build deep process understanding and support robust, repeatable manufacturing performance.
  • Manage project workstreams and external partners including equipment builders, system integrators, and suppliers to deliver fully integrated process systems on time and on budget, while ensuring all manufacturing documentation and technical reports meet internal standards.
  • Support root cause identification and resolution for manufacturing issues, lead process qualification plans, and champion a safe, ergonomic work environment through Kaizen and 5S initiatives.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience in manufacturing process engineering in an industrial or maquiladora environment.
  • Active Green Belt Certification required; Black Belt or Lean Belt certification is a strong advantage.
  • Solid command of statistical tools: DOE, GR&R, process capability analysis, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing.
  • Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen methodology; project management experience required.
  • Advanced English proficiency (80%+) required for technical communication with global teams and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, coach engineers, and drive results across cross-functional groups.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% based on project and business needs.

What we offer?

  • Competitive salary and benefits package above mandatory law requirements.
  • Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates from other cities.
  • Clear technical and leadership career progression within a global company.
  • Access to global training programs and continuous professional development.
  • Exposure to world class engineering teams and global collaboration.
  • A diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
