• Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be part of the Malaysian Exploration team.
• You will collaborate closely with the Exploration Manager Malaysia and the APC Area Exploration Manager.
• Your work will directly support TotalEnergies’ portfolio growth and exploration drilling strategies in Malaysia.

Activities

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Exploration Geoscientist, you will:

• Lead geological and geophysical evaluations of prospects and leads.
• Conduct basin and play synthesis studies, risk assessments, and volumetric analysis.
• Integrate and synthesize geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data.
• Represent the company in technical meetings with partners and regulators.
• Ensure data quality, confidentiality, and knowledge management.
• Mentor junior geoscientists and promote best practices across the team.
• Contribute to well preparation and post-well studies in collaboration with subsurface teams.
• Propose innovative exploration ideas and challenge existing paradigms, especially in mature plays.

Candidate Profile

What We Are Looking For

• A university degree in MSc or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or Engineering
• 10+ years of professional experience in geoscience and exploration.
• Deep understanding of Malaysia’s energy landscape and regulatory frameworks.
• A curious mind, a collaborative spirit, and a knack for critical thinking

About TotalEnergies in Malaysia

TotalEnergies has been operating in Malaysia since 1985 and is a long-standing partner of the national oil company PETRONAS. Following the completion of the acquisition of SapuraOMV Upstream, TotalEnergies is the 3rd largest gas operator in the country. The Company employs about 300 people in the country and holds operated interests of 40% in block SK408 and 30% in block SK310, as well as a 40% interest in block SB412.

These interests round out its existing portfolio of 34.9% in both blocks SB-2K and SB-N and 85% in block 2E (Marjoram). Via its affiliate TotalEnergies Marketing Malaysia, TotalEnergies also markets petroleum products. In 2023, the Company signed a deal with PETRONAS and Mitsui to develop a CO2 storage project in Southeast Asia and assess several potential sites in the Malay Basin.
