Your tasks

  • Establishes, regularly reviews and improves the market risk framework for the identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and reporting of commodities, foreign exchange and other relevant market risks within Gas & Power OMV Petrom Division, in line with OMV Group risk management principles.
  • Coordinates and integrates market risk control activities across Gas & Power OMV Petrom Division, ensuring consistent application of risk processes, governance standards and internal directives across all relevant markets and business activities.
  • Monitors, controls and enforces compliance with applicable market risk limits, internal regulations, directives and governance requirements across Gas & Power OMV Petrom Division.
  • Performs independent market risk assessments for current business activities and potential new activities, products, markets and instruments.
  • Reviews market conformity of prices, exposures, correlations, volatility and other relevant risk drivers, ensuring that market risk indicators are accurate, consistent and fit for management decision-making.
  • Is responsible for the market risk content of the Annual Hedging Plans, including the definition of hedging guidelines, risk measures, monitoring requirements and reporting approach.
  • Defines, implements and monitors financial instruments used for hedging purposes, including FX hedging instruments, swaps and other relevant commodities or financial derivatives.
  • Evaluates and reports hedge positions, including hedged volumes, hedge status, stock hedge quantities and other relevant operational hedge indicators.
  • Computes, reviews and reports mark-to-market valuation of hedges and related market risk positions.
  • Monitors and reports the PnL result of hedging activities and support the explanation of relevant movements, deviations and performance drivers.

Your skills

  • Education: Master’s degree in Economics or any comparable education
  • Relevant professional experience: >5 years
  • Excellent understanding of finance and business areas
  • Strong knowledge of commodity, foreign exchange and financial market risk management principles, methodologies and governance frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of hedging strategies, financial instruments, mark-to-market valuation, PnL analysis, VaR, exposures, correlations and volatility indicators.
  • Ability to assess market risks independently and translate complex risk topics into clear, practical recommendations for management and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data, identify risk drivers, monitor deviations and propose appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Good understanding of energy markets, trading activities, commercial contracts and risk-relevant contractual provisions, including EFET-related topics.
  • Experience in designing, implementing and improving risk reporting processes, controls, methodologies and system-based monitoring tools.
  • Ability to work with CTRM, ETRM, market risk and reporting systems, and to support system implementation, enhancement and integration initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to cooperate effectively with Trading & Origination, Finance, Operations, Back Office, management and Group risk control functions.

About OMV Petrom

OMV Petrom is the largest integrated energy producer in Southeastern Europe, with an annual Group hydrocarbon production of approximately 38 million boe in 2025. The Group has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tons annually and operates an 860 MW high-efficiency gas-fired power plant. The Group is present on the oil products retail market in Romania and neighbouring countries through approximately 780 filling stations under two brands – OMV and Petrom.
