Executive compensation is one of the most sensitive and visible topics in our Group – with direct impact on our Management Board, Supervisory Board, investors, and the capital market. In this role, you will shape the remuneration of our Management Board members and senior executives, advise top management and the Supervisory Board's Remuneration Committee as a trusted sparring partner, and operate at the intersection of strategy, governance, law, and capital markets.

What to expect

  • You design and continuously develop the remuneration systems for our Management Board members and senior executives across the UNIQA Group – from the Remuneration Policy and STI/LTI mechanics to special instruments such as sign-on, retention, severance, and pension arrangements
  • You prepare the meetings of the Remuneration Committee from a technical perspective: board papers, scenario analyses, benchmark reviews, and decision support
  • You are responsible for the annual external benchmark study for the Management Board and senior executives, steer external remuneration advisors (e.g. Korn Ferry, WTW, Mercer), and translate market data into actionable recommendations for the CEO, CHRO, and Supervisory Board
  • You take the lead in drafting the annual Remuneration Report in line with section 78c Austrian Stock Corporation Act (AktG), and own the remuneration-related sections of the Annual Report, Corporate Governance Report, and Sustainability Report (ESRS S1)
  • You ensure regulatory compliance of our remuneration systems with Solvency II and relevant EIOPA / FMA requirements
  • You take technical ownership of Group-wide compensation projects (e.g. LTI redesign, ESG performance criteria, EU Pay Transparency Directive at executive level, M&A-related remuneration topics)

What we expect

  • Completed university degree (Economics, Law, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable field); additional qualifications such as Korn Ferry Hay certification, GRP, CCP, MBA, or LL.M. are a plus
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant professional experience in executive compensation, total rewards, or a comparable area – ideally in a listed environment, a top consulting firm, or a regulated financial services group
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant regulatory frameworks: Austrian Corporate Governance Code, Solvency II remuneration requirements, AIFMD, EU Pay Transparency Directive
  • Hands-on experience in designing and valuing equity-based remuneration instruments (Performance Shares, RSUs, Phantom Stock, co-investment models)
  • Confident presence with Management Board and Senior Management; proven experience in preparing and supporting Senior Stakeholder meetings
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and sensitivity in handling highly confidential information
  • Excellent command of MS Excel and PowerPoint at board level; Power BI is a plus
  • Business-fluent English is required; working knowledge of German is welcome and helpful in interacting with Austrian governance bodies
  • Act with a strong sense of responsibility and build trust
  • Communicate vision and goals clearly – also in a highly sensitive environment
  • Find effective solutions and condense complex matters into clear, decision-ready insights
  • Collaborate with others and foster ownership in those around you
