Job Description

The Senior EVP of Sport is a ministry-driven leadership role focused on supporting the Chief Sport Officer (CSO) in leading FCA's sport-specific ministry. The Senior EVP of Sport partners closely with the CSO to champion a unified sport-specific model, equip sport environment leaders, and help ensure increased ministry impact and disciple-making outcomes across all sports. This leader provides relational support, ministry clarity, and operational continuity for the Sport environments, multiplying FCA's mission through staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes.

MINISTERIAL DUTIES

These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.

  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Sport Leadership & Support

  • Support the Chief Sport Officer in leading Sport EVP's.
  • Provide relational leadership and guidance to field teams that do not have an EVP.
  • Serve as a support and sounding board for sport-enviornment leadres (Action sports, Golf, Motorsports, Outdoors, etc).
  • Help ensure priorities, expectations, and ministry direction are clear and unified across sport environments.
  • Help equip staff with clarity, resources, and support to execute sport-ministry effectively.
  • Champion FCA's identity as a sport ministry by reinforcing shared language, systems, and ministry values.
  • Promote collaboration, unity, and shared best practices across sport environments.
  • Ensure EVPs of Sport Environments serve as the primary FCA representative for partnershp and collaboration opportunities within each sport environment.

Ministry Impact & Metrics

  • Coach staff in their goals of gorwing registered programs, huddles, mobilized volunteers and program participation (camps, clubs, and leagues).
  • Support field staff in identifying areas of ministry opportunity and growth.
  • Encourage a healhty rhythm of accountability, learning, and ministry excellence.

Representation & Continuity

  • Provide continuity and relational connection across sport environments and field teams.
  • Ensure EVPs of Sport strategically coordinate FCA presence at key industry events (major competitions, championships, and coaching conventions) to maximize ministry impact.
  • Provide oversight and accountablity to ensure EVPs of Sport Enviornments develop and execute effective marketing strategies, including social media engagement and communication plans.
