About The Role

We are looking for a technically strong and proactive Senior Executive, Smart Technology to join our Information Technology Division.

This role will support PTP's digital transformation and technology initiatives through software development, application enhancement, server and infrastructure management, technical troubleshooting and project delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with Business Owners and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, translate them into practical technology solutions, and ensure applications and supporting infrastructure remain secure, reliable, scalable and highly available.

This is a hands-on role suitable for an IT professional who enjoys working across both software/application development and infrastructure environments, while contributing to technology projects that support business operations.

Key Responsibilities

i. Software & Application Development

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications to support business and digital transformation requirements.
• Engage with Business Owners to understand operational needs and translate requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
• Develop user-friendly and reliable applications that meet business requirements.
• Analyze, test and validate applications and system changes prior to implementation.
• Troubleshoot coding and application-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintain and enhance existing software applications based on evolving business requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing software processes, system functionality and user experience.
• Prepare structured technical and application documentation for handover to application support teams.
• Provide guidance and support to users and team members on the effective use of developed applications.

ii. Server & Infrastructure Management

• Administer and maintain servers supporting business-critical applications.
• Monitor system availability, server performance, capacity and overall infrastructure health.
• Manage server configuration, security patching, upgrades and technology lifecycle activities.
• Manage backup, recovery and disaster recovery requirements.
• Troubleshoot server and infrastructure-related issues and coordinate timely resolution.
• Support server environments across Development, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production.
• Ensure the security, reliability, availability and continuity of systems supporting business operations.
• Support capacity planning and infrastructure improvements based on current and future business requirements.

iii. Application Support & Maintenance

• Provide timely technical support for reported application and system issues to minimize operational disruption.
• Monitor application performance and ensure systems continue to operate according to their intended design.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for system incidents and recurring technical issues.
• Implement preventive maintenance and corrective measures to minimize system downtime.
• Coordinate disaster recovery activities where required.
• Ensure relevant operational documents, technical checklists and system records are maintained accurately and updated in a timely manner.
• Work across application, database and server environments to identify and resolve technical issues.

iv. System Enhancement & Continuous Improvement

• Assess enhancement requests and recommend appropriate technical solutions for new or existing applications.
• Plan and execute application development and system enhancements according to approved requirements and budget.
• Participate in application installations, upgrades, enhancements and technical implementation activities.
• Provide technical advice and validation on proposed technology solutions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce recurring service requests through planned system improvements and automation.
• Prepare and maintain system documentation, application specifications and process flows.

v. IT Project Management

• Participate in and/or facilitate various phases of application and technology projects, from solution/product selection through implementation, handover and project closure.
• Coordinate technical activities involving IT teams, Business Owners and other relevant stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
• Support technical decision-making to ensure solutions are aligned with business and organizational objectives.
• Participate in special IT and business projects as assigned.

vi. Business & User Requirement Management

• Engage with internal customers to understand requirements for IT, application and other technology-based solutions.
• Facilitate discussions with requesters to clarify business and technical requirements.
• Assess user requirements and advise on feasible technology solutions.
• Work closely with Business Owners throughout solution development and implementation.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with users when required.

vii. Change Management, IT Governance & Information Security

• Develop and follow effective operating procedures relating to application change control and version management.
• Ensure application and infrastructure changes are implemented in a controlled and properly documented manner.
• Ensure information security requirements are incorporated into technology solutions and daily operations.
• Support the implementation and compliance of applicable IT and Information Security policies.
• Safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Company information, systems and technology assets.
• Ensure technology projects and activities comply with relevant PTP safety requirements.

Requirement

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Software Development, System Administration, Infrastructure Support or a related IT field.
• Proven experience in software development and application support.
• Practical exposure to server infrastructure, operating systems and database environments.
• Experience in server administration, system monitoring, patching, backup and recovery, performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications in Development, UAT and Production environments would be an advantage.
