Job Description

About the Team

We serve as Uber’s in-house executive search firm. Our team operates as strategic advisors to Uber’s highest levels of leadership, managing high-stakes searches with the precision of a top-tier retained firm and the speed of a global tech leader. We are dedicated to recruiting, identifying and engaging the game-changing talent that defines Uber’s future.

About the Role

We are seeking an Executive Recruiter to join our Global Non-Technical Executive Recruiting team, supporting both US&C and global scopes. In this role, you will lead critical leadership engagements (Director+) across every core business unit at Uber—shaping the leadership benches that drive Mobility, Delivery, Uber for Business (U4B), emerging AI Solutions & others.

Operating within a fully integrated executive talent team, you will drive high-touch stakeholder management, advanced candidate assessment, and executive closing. You will maintain an uncompromising bar for quality and execution, partnering crossfunctionally to recruit the transformative leaders defining the future of global movement.

What you’ll do

  • Orchestrate End-to-End Execution: Act as the primary lead for high-profile executive engagements, driving structural alignment across hiring managers, cross-functional partners (HRBP, Compensation, Legal, Chief of Staff, etc.), and internal team counterparts from kick-off to close
  • Business Immersion & Curiosity: Cultivate a curiosity and comprehensive understanding of Uber’s complex business units, operational levers, and long-term strategic objectives. You grasp how a single leadership hire impacts our global delivery, mobility, and bottom-line scaling
  • Act as a Strategic Talent Advisor: Serve as a trusted talent consultant to Uber’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Leverage data, market insights, and structural understanding to challenge assumptions, guide internal calibration, and shape organizational design.
  • Guide Search Direction & Calibration: Provide strategic input and leadership context to shape external pipeline development and market mapping, collaborating closely with sourcing counterparts to refine search strategies and pivot based on business realities
  • Evaluate & Assess Leadership Talent: Use sharp business context and intuition to rigorously interview and qualify non-technical leaders, ensuring they have the business acumen and cultural alignment to succeed at Uber.
  • Clear Executive Communication: Keep internal stakeholders aligned by translating complex market data into simple, actionable updates, while clearly pitching Uber's vision to top-tier talent.
  • Champion the Executive Candidate Experience: Own the ultimate assessment loop, interview strategy, and offer negotiation process. Provide a flawless, deeply empathetic experience that decodes candidate motivations to successfully close tier-one global talent.
  • Maintain Operational & Analytical Integrity: Execute with a methodical approach, ensuring rigorous search tracking, data integrity, and an uncompromising commitment to quality and inclusion.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in executive recruiting or search execution, with a heavy emphasis on hiring leaders within high-growth, complex corporate environments.
  • Experience operating within an established, highly sophisticated in-house executive search function or an elite external executive search practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consultative Mastery: Proven ability to establish trust, command buy-in from senior stakeholders, and operate seamlessly as a peer to executive leadership.
  • Strong Business Acumen: Ability to quickly understand Uber’s business model and speak fluently with leaders across Finance, Strategy, Operations, and Go-To-Market teams.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: A natural, self-motivated desire to understand how things work, navigate ambiguity with poise, and constantly solve problems before they arise.
  • Advanced Leadership Assessment Capabilities: Expert in using sophisticated, qualitative interview techniques to evaluate, vet, and qualify game-changing executive talent.
  • Strategic Storytelling: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex business and logistics strategies in a deeply compelling way.
  • Analytical Mindset: A data-driven approach to recruiting, with a sharp track record of translating talent metrics into clear business choices.
  • Agility & Resilience: Calm under pressure, focused on high-quality execution, and comfortable navigating ambiguity, calculated risks, or shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience managing scopes across both US&C and global business segments is viewed as a strong plus.

About Uber

We are Uber. The go-getters. The kind of people who are relentless about our mission to help people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way. Movement is what we power. It’s our lifeblood. It runs through our veins. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning. It pushes us to constantly reimagine how we can move better. For you. For all the places you want to go. For all the things you want to get. For all the ways you want to earn. Across the entire world. In real time. At the incredible speed of now.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
