Senior Executive Officer (25260703)

The Office of the Dean of Science is seeking a highly motivated professional to join its PR team as a Senior Executive Officer. The appointee will play a central role in delivering high-impact marketing, public relations and event management initiatives to elevate the Faculty’s brand and engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Corporate PR & Communications: Support and execute corporate PR and communications initiatives to enhance the Faculty’s profile and public image;
  • Comprehensive Event Management: Devise, coordinate and deliver events across all scales, ranging from University-wide and Faculty-wide campaigns and ceremonies to workshops and competitions;
  • Multilingual Content Creation: Produce high-quality editorial content, including news articles, press releases, and social media campaigns. The appointee will also be responsible for drafting formal speeches and presentations;
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to foster a cohesive team spirit and contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment; and
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Support effective communication and liaison with external and internal parties.

The appointee is also required to attend to other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Applicants should hold a recognised bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline, and have a minimum of four years’ relevant work experience. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following qualities and competencies:

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Proactive individual with a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Ability to multitask effectively and manage competing priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
  • Proficiency in common office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, alongside general IT skills; and
  • Proven experience with advertising agencies, PR agencies or similar industry environments is an advantage.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of Executive Officer.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
