SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION

Senior Executive Officer (25260427)

The School of Communication is seeking a proactive, highly-organised Senior Executive Officer to join our team to support the taught postgraduate (TPg) programmes. The appointee will work closely with academic staff, students, alumni and external partners to ensure the smooth operation of the programmes and contribute to the enhancement of student experience and career development.

Responsibilities:

The appointee is expected to provide secretarial and administrative support to the taught postgraduateprogramme offered by the School of Communication.

  • Lead and support career development activities for students, including planning and implementing industry networking events, mentorship programmes, alumni connections, and internship opportunities;
  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support for the TPg programme, including daily office administration and maintaining efficient workflow;
  • Liaise professionally with faculty, students, alumni, and external partners;
  • Coordinate events and activities (e.g., workshops, seminars, study tours, outreach), including occasional travel;
  • Handle financial matters, including payments, purchasing orders, and financial reporting;
  • Manage and developing programme-related social media platforms (e.g., WeChat, Rednote), including content creation and engagement;
  • Update digital resources and supporting multimedia communications and promotional materials;
  • Compile and presenting reports and data on programme operations and student outcomes; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant work experience in higher education, communications, administration, or related fields;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with diverse stakeholders;
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and handle multiple tasks under pressure with attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Chinese and English word processing, and multimedia applications; experience in website maintenance; and
  • Experience in supporting student career development and outreach activities is highly preferred.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a writing test.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years, commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.

Reference salary range: HK$27,000 to HK$47,000

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
