Senior Executive ‐ Lean Enterprise & Industrial Engineering
Based at Thulhiriya
Strategically located within Sri Lanka’s Industrial Zone in Thulhiriya, TEXO is a fabric processing mill, offering value adding services such as dyeing, finishing and printing of cotton-based fabrics to global brands. Along with TEXO’s capability of providing customized orders, this MAS owned entity also benefits from the cost and sustainability advantage of being located within the MAS Fabric Park.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the senior teams in conducting all Lean and industrial engineering related projects and initiatives in the business unit in orders to drive a culture of continuous improvement and be accountable for the successful rollout of the assigned projects.
- Develop project plans and timeliness to ensure successful implementation of assigned projects and monitor the project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure on time and on budget completion.
- Ensure all projects adhere to establish safety, quality and compliance standards also provide regular updates and reports on project status to senior leadership.
- Improve the business culture by promoting and supporting Lean methodologies and practices.
- Maintain the procedures laid-out for internal and external Lean and IE audits, Calibrations, participate in the conducting of pre-audits/final assessments and record the feedback provided for continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on the adoption of Lean and IE principles within the organization.
- Establish performance metrics and tracking mechanism Lean and IE initiatives, monitor report on the progress and results of Lean and IE projects and provide updates to senior teams on the status of performance measures.
- Monitor work study methods and time study methods, such as activity sampling and motion time analysis on identified operations, employing the best work study methods in order to continuously enhance productively levels whilst ensuring the optimum utility of available resources.
- Ensure production issues related to work study such as bottlenecks, operational variations, and operator- issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
- Conduct internal trainings, coaching and provide guidance and post training evaluations by coordination with the senior team in order to enhance Lean awareness across the organization.
- Ensure adherence to organizational standards such as SOPs, compliance standards, health, and safety and 5S whilst, leading Lean initiatives within the team.
Knowledge and Skills
- Degree in Management, Science and Engineering.
- 3 - 4 years of relevant industry experience.
- Intermediate or advance in MS Powe point, Excel and Word.
- Good Analytical, Interpersonal & Communication Skills.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, Risk management and problem solving.
