Job Description

LOCATION: Tiruvallur

DEPARTRMENT: SCM (Supply Chain Management)

YOUR TASKS:

Procurement & Purchase Order Management

  • Create, review, and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to approved suppliers in SAP.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase requisitions.
  • Monitor open POs and ensure closure of pending transactions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for procurement requirements and priority planning.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval matrix, and sourcing guidelines.

Indirect Material & PPE Management

  • Manage procurement of PPE items such as safety helmets, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, coveralls, respiratory masks, ear protection, and other safety consumables.
  • Ensure availability of PPE materials in line with EHS and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with EHS, Plant, Maintenance, Production, Quality, HR, and Admin teams for material requirements.
  • Track consumption patterns and optimize inventory levels for indirect materials and PPE.

Order Tracking & Supplier Coordination

  • Monitor order status and track deliveries to ensure on-time material availability.
  • Follow up with suppliers on order acknowledgments, production status, dispatch schedules, and delivery commitments.
  • Communicate order progress and risks to internal stakeholders proactively.
  • Resolve supply disruptions and expedite critical requirements whenever necessary.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure sufficient stock to meet operational requirements.
  • Prevent stock-outs and minimize excess inventory.
  • Review reorder levels, safety stock, and consumption trends regularly.
  • Support periodic inventory audits and stock reconciliation activities.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews focusing on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service.
  • Address supplier-related issues such as delivery delays, quality concerns, invoice discrepancies, and service gaps.
  • Support supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality & Compliance

  • Work closely with Quality and User Departments to ensure incoming materials meet specified requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for corrective actions related to quality concerns.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, EHS requirements, and applicable regulations.

Planning & MRP Coordination

  • Understand and execute procurement requirements through MRP recommendations.
  • Ensure timely procurement based on planning inputs and consumption forecasts.
  • Coordinate with planning and stores teams for effective inventory control and replenishment.

MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare procurement reports, inventory reports, supplier performance reports, and KPI dashboards.
  • Track procurement KPIs such as OTIF, inventory coverage, purchase price variance, cost savings, and supplier performance.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

YOUR PROFILE:

B.E. / MBA in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Logistics is preferred.

5-8 years of experience in Indirect Material - Supply Chain/Operations Management from manufacturing/ engineering/ automotive/ renewable energy/ heavy engineering or similar industrial sectors.
