SUMMARY

As the Senior Event Manager, you will serve as the primary backup for the Manager, Events & Tradeshows. You will lead the development and execution of event marketing strategies that elevate brand visibility, engage key audiences, and drive measurable business growth. This highly collaborative role partners closely with Leadership, Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to ensure every event, whether an industry conference, hosted experience, or VIP engagement, aligns event strategy with overarching business objectives. You'll be accountable for delivering high-quality, impactful event experiences that strengthen relationships, generate leads, and contribute to revenue goals.

You will also be responsible for creating overall Event Strategies that align with our product and Line of Business Goals. You will be the prime point of contact for our Marketing Efficiency AI Objectives and will mentor and onboard new Event Managers. Travel required: approximately 20% travel

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy, Planning & Integrated Execution

  • Own the annual event calendar and portfolio framework for an assigned segment, and align to integrate audience signals, competitive timing, and account-level priorities into an event plan.
  • Lead cross-functional planning across marketing, sales, product, and customer success to ensure event programs are sequenced, resourced, and aligned to go-to-market objectives.
  • Manage and execute 15+ multi-tier events annually while leading CONNECT workstreams; maintain portfolio-level performance scorecards and present data-backed recommendations to marketing leadership.
  • Act as the primary backup to the Event Team Manager, representing the team in meetings and presentations and ensuring continuity of operations.

Audience Targeting & Pipeline Influence

  • Lead pipeline influence strategies for priority accounts through event activations deliberately sequenced to build buyer confidence and accelerate time-to-close.
  • Build repeatable sales enablement frameworks that connect event engagement to pipeline creation; partner with sales leadership to co-own follow-up execution and pipeline targets.
  • Drive attendee engagement through innovative strategies, ensuring effective lead capture and structured post-event follow-up to optimize ROI.

Brand Expression & Stakeholder Presence

  • Elevate the organization's brand presence across high-priority events through differentiated content and activation concepts that create a memorable, distinctive impression.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level event strategy communications to VP and SVP audiences
  • Partner across Product Marketing, Content, and Design to ensure strategic alignment on event vision, messaging, and brand representation across all materials, signage, and promotional assets.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients, prospects, vendors, and strategic partners through curated, high-touch event experiences designed to deepen relationships and advance pipeline objectives.

Data-Driven Decision Making & Continuous Improvement

  • Synthesize competitive intelligence, market trends, and performance data to make event investment recommendations; assist to build the analytical case for continuing, scaling, or sunsetting events.
  • Evaluate and recommend marketing technology solutions based on functional fit and integration requirements; build reusable AI-assisted workflows that improve team efficiency.
  • Conduct in-depth post-event analysis measuring ROI, attendee quality, and pipeline contribution; leverage data and insights to continuously refine future event strategies.
  • Serve as a prime point of contact for the team's Marketing Efficiency AI Objectives; mentor and onboard new Event Managers on tools, processes, and standards.

Full-Lifecycle Event Execution

  • Orchestrate multiple simultaneous events across different planning phases without degrading quality or missing commitments; establish execution standards and escalation protocols adopted across the team.
  • Design and enforce onsite operational frameworks for flagship events governing staff deployment, contingency protocols, and vendor management standards.
  • Own the full event lifecycle from event selection and contract execution through onsite management and post-event close-out.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Manage multi-million-dollar event portfolio budgets with shared ownership of annual planning, in-year reallocation, and large-scale contract negotiation for flagship sponsorships.
  • Assist in building investment scenarios that model the revenue impact of different spending levels; co-present tradeoff analyses that enable senior leadership to make confident investment decisions.

Attendee Experience & Engagement Design

  • Architect high-impact event experiences for priority accounts designed to shift buyer perception, deepen executive relationships, and accelerate commercial conversations.
  • Lead hosted and experiential events including executive dinners, private roundtables, hosted conferences, industry tradeshows and VIP activations - with intentionality around specific goals.
  • Lead the execution of C-suite and VP-level engagement at Tier 1 and Tier 2 events; uplevel executive engagement playbooks that are repeatable across the portfolio.

Thought Leadership & Category Positioning

  • Ensure the organization's category leadership narrative is expressed consistently across events and owned experiences through speaking sessions, panels, and hosted content.
  • Identify and secure speaking opportunities aligned to the company's most important category narratives; partner with subject matter experts and Product Marketing to develop compelling session content.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to pinpoint and prioritize participation in key events, conferences, and trade shows that reinforce the organization's category leadership position.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years experience in corporate or association event management and trade shows
  • Understanding of the financial services and fintech landscape, with success delivering executive-level, account-based experiences for enterprise banks and credit unions, is ideal.
  • Proven experience in event management, partnering closely with Sales and Executive Leadership to align event strategy with pipeline objectives and revenue goals.
  • Proven track record of integrating event analytics with sales outcomes to showcase tangible business impact and pipeline contribution.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, vendor management, and budget oversight.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to measure and report on the success of events.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally, both internally and externally.
  • Ability and comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to travel to events for onsite setup, team supervision, and event management.
