Our client is a leading construction company in the Boston area, specializing in commercial and multifamily residential projects. We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join our clients team. Their office is located south of Boston. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects, as well as managing the estimating process from start to finish. This is a full-time, in-office position.
- Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure all project requirements are included in the estimates
- Analyze and compare subcontractor bids to determine the most cost-effective options
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and participate in negotiations
- Monitor and track project costs to ensure they align with the estimated budget
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in construction costs
- Participate in project kick-off meetings and provide support throughout the project lifecycle
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the commercial or residential sector
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior staff
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
