The FedGov Senior Estimator leads estimating efforts for complex Federal construction projects by developing accurate, compliant, and executable estimates. This position provides technical leadership throughout the preconstruction process by interpreting contract documents, evaluating project risk, and collaborating across Operations, Project Management, Procurement, manufacturers, and customers to deliver successful Federal project outcomes.
Essential Functions
• Lead estimating activities for complex Federal construction projects from bid solicitation through project turnover.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, addenda, and contract requirements to develop complete door, frame, hardware, Division 10, and related specialty system estimates.
• Review project documents to identify and mitigate specification gaps, compliance requirements, constructability concerns, procurement challenges and execution risks.
• Develop labor, material, and procurement strategies that support competitive, executable project delivery.
• Coordinate with General Contractors, manufacturers, Operations, Procurement, Detailing, Sales, and Project Management throughout the estimating process.
• Develop estimates utilizing Comsense and manufacturer pricing while maintaining estimate accuracy and documentation.
• Support compliance with Federal contract requirements, including Buy America, Trade Agreements Act (TAA), Davis-Bacon, FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific requirements.
• Lead pre-award and post-award turnover meetings to ensure complete communication of project scope, assumptions, pricing, and contractual obligations.
• Compare estimated versus actual project performance to support continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within the commercial door, frame, hardware, specialty construction, or building products industry.
• Federal construction estimating experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Comsense or equivalent estimating software.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Advanced blueprint, specification, and contract document interpretation.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial door, frame, hardware, Division 10, and related specialty construction products, including applicable building codes, fire codes, ADA, life safety, acoustical, blast, and security requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of Federal procurement practices, Government construction delivery methods, and agency contract requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate contractual, specification, procurement, compliance, and execution risks throughout the estimating process.
• Experience working within controlled Government documentation environments, including projects involving Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), while maintaining strict document control and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and business units.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple complex Federal pursuits simultaneously.

Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally require business travel.
