Job Description

Our client, a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their expanding preconstruction team based in Sandyford, Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in securing major construction projects across residential, commercial, pharma, data centre, and high-tech sectors. The successful candidate will bring strong building estimating expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to lead bid strategies from concept through to award.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of accurate and timely detailed cost estimates in support of tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to identify project scope and risks.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive and accurate package pricing.
• Prepare value engineering options and alternative solutions to strengthen tender submissions.
• Lead pricing reviews and commercial assessments prior to final bid submission.
• Maintain oversight of market trends, inflation, and supply chain conditions to inform bid strategy.
• Ensure smooth handover of awarded projects to delivery teams with full commercial documentation.
• Mentor and support junior estimators to assist their professional development.
• Collaborate closely with preconstruction, design, planning, and commercial teams throughout the tender process.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in building estimating, with recent experience as a Senior Estimator.
• Previous experience working with a main contractor on construction projects.
• Strong background in sectors such as residential, RC frame, retail/commercial, pharma, data centres, or high-tech.
• Advanced commercial and analytical estimating skills.
• Strong IT proficiency including MS Office and estimating/database systems.
