Senior Estimator

Compensation: $150,000 - $210,000 / year

Description

Lead estimator role on GMP and Hard Bid pursuits for one of the industry's most established employee-owned GCs. You'll shape conceptual budgets from schematic plans, build subcontractor strategy, and have a clear runway toward Chief Estimator.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating on GMP and Hard Bid pursuits, from conceptual budgets through final construction documents
• Build subcontractor scopes, analyze bids for gaps and risk, and select subs who give us a competitive edge
• Read and stress-test CPM schedules for procurement, lead times, and critical path impact on cost
• Flag constructability issues and value-engineering opportunities during design
• Manage risk and contingency exposure on both the owner and subcontractor side
• Own insurance and contract cost implications — OCIP/CCIP, Builders Risk, AIA contract forms
• Mentor junior estimators and represent the company in RFP responses and client presentations

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 4-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field experience
• 5+ years of estimating experience with a GC or subcontractor
• Proficient in Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, BIM 360 Glue, and PlanGrid
• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR certified
• Strong communicator who builds lasting subcontractor and client relationships
