Senior Estimator
Minneapolis, MN | Direct Hire | $100K–$140K + Bonus & Profit Sharing | Hybrid

Konik is partnering with a highly respected specialty contractor known for delivering complex, custom structural projects across commercial and industrial markets nationwide. This organization has built a strong reputation for executing challenging, fast-track work that requires creativity, precision, and deep technical expertise.

This role is ideal for an experienced estimator who thrives in a custom, project-based environment—not repetitive bid work—and is ready to step into a leadership position while staying closely connected to technical strategy and proposal execution.

Senior Estimator Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of estimators across multiple active pursuits
  • Review and finalize estimates and proposals, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness
  • Drive estimating strategy for complex, custom structural projects (not commodity or unit-based work)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop pricing approaches, schedules, and proposal narratives
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients on select pursuits and high-priority bids
  • Assign project ownership and subject matter responsibilities across the estimating team
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes, tools, and best practices
  • Maintain visibility into project risks, constructability considerations, and execution strategy

Senior Estimator Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in structural steel or specialty construction estimating
  • Direct experience with custom estimating (complex scopes, conceptual pricing, negotiated work)
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication, detailing, erection, and overall project lifecycle
  • Experience reviewing, finalizing, and presenting estimates and proposals
  • Leadership or mentorship experience preferred
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to technical detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in aviation, healthcare, data center, or large commercial projects
  • Background working on negotiated work or design-assist/design-build projects
  • Project management or field experience within structural steel or specialty construction
  • Familiarity with advanced estimating tools and takeoff software
