Job Description

BESIX Watpac are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our South Australia team, compiling tenders and cost plans for major projects and pursuits across a diverse range of sectors.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Contribute to the Estimating team by preparing accurate cost plans and tenders, ensuring all resources, costs, and methodologies are thoroughly considered.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging construction techniques, products, and their associated costs.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and relevant authorities to support business objectives.
  • Prepare and negotiate tenders across multiple contract forms, using industry software to present clear and concise estimates.
  • Source and analyse cost data from suppliers, subcontractors, and completed projects to monitor project costs and recommend cost alternatives.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline together with demonstrated experience in cost planning/estimating.
  • Clear understanding of industry construction techniques and proficient and proven skills in industry software.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the external and internal business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
