Ready to shape differentiated metals and mining investment insights across EMEA?
Why HSBC
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
This role initiates coverage on 12-15+ stocks across the South African and EMEA metals and mining sector including South African gold, PGM and diversified companies. You’ll produce research that helps form our views on underlying commodities and supports engagement with local South Africa and international clients. Working as part of our global metals and mining team, you’ll turn complex company and industry dynamics into clear investment insights. Success looks like high-quality publications supported by robust models and well-governed data. You’ll use technology and modern research tools to improve productivity and deepen analysis while maintaining strong standards of confidentiality, compliance and integrity.
What you'll be doing
Research that shapes client decisions
This role gives you scope to set coverage and publish research that influences how clients and colleagues see the South African and wider EMEA metals and mining landscape. You’ll combine rigorous modelling with clear written work and direct engagement across the platform. If you want your analysis to travel beyond the page and into real client conversations this is a chance to do that at scale. Apply to help build differentiated views that stand up to scrutiny and inform investment decisions.
Being open to different points of view is important for our business and the communities we serve. At HSBC, we’re dedicated to creating diverse and inclusive workplaces - no matter their gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or age. We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible for everyone to be at their best. We take pride in being a Disability Confident Leader and will offer an interview to people with disabilities, long term conditions or neurodivergent candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
